University Minimum Requirements –No Change: 120 Credit Hours minimum for Undergraduate Degree36 Credit Hours minimum at the Junior‐ Senior Level (300 ) for Undergraduate DegreeResidencyoMust be admitted and academically eligible to enroll in the College or School during the semester in which the degreeis awarded.oSuccessfully complete through UMKC at least 30 credit hours of course work.oSuccessfully complete through UMKC at least 12 hours of upper division credit (300 ) required by the recordedmajor(s) to be awarded.oIf pursuing a minor, successfully complete through UMKC at least 6 credit hours required by the recorded minor(s) tobe awarded.General Education (UMKC Essentials OR MDHEWD Core 42)o State Constitution Requiremento Civics ExamFTC Admissions ‐ applicants with a 2.75 or University of Missouri System (UM) core GPA may be admitted to UMKC without submittingan ACT or SAT score.Transfer Admissions – 2.0 minimum GPADean’s List ‐ Students must complete a minimum full‐time program of 12 graded hours to qualify for the dean’s list. New Program Approval PolicyLaurie Ellinghausen, Associate Vice Provost for Academic Innovation“New programs” are programs delivered in any modality – in‐person, hybrid,or online – that have never before been offered at UMKC. New programs mayinclude but are not limited to:– Undergraduate majors (BA, BFA, BS, etc.)– Undergraduate minors– Graduate programs (MA, MS, MFA, PhD, etc.)– Certificates (graduate or undergraduate)– Emphasis areas– New programs for eLearning (including inter‐campus collaborations)– Program modality changes (in‐person, hybrid/blended, or online)

“Program revisions” include any and all proposed revisions to existingprograms. Program revisions requiring AI review may include but are notlimited to:– Title changes without a change in CIP code– CIP code change with no programmatic changes– Program requirement changes (including new courses of anymodality) that make up at least 25% of program requirements sincethe last HLC review– Retired programs (inactive status for 5 years or less) that the unit seeksto reinstate

Missouri Online Program DesignationLaurie Ellinghausen, Associate Vice Provost for Academic InnovationQualifications– Verification that the program already exists in the catalog– No curricular changes except for a modality change from face‐to‐face/hybrid to fully available (100%) online, which may include theRooFlex modality– Program must an undergraduate major, master’s program,graduate/undergraduate certificate, or dual degree program

Required Materials1. A 1‐2 paragraph statement of rationale for the modalitychange2. A course rotation showing that the program can be delivered100% online within two years3. Information about online teaching certification for allinstructors who will teach in the program4. Information about online course certification for all courses inthe program5. Information about any required face‐to‐face componentsoutside of coursework (internships, practicums, seminars, etc.)6. Information about whether the current modality will remain inplace or be closed, including a “teach out” plan if the currentmodality is closing7. Name of a point person for the nomination process

CourseLeaf Workflow ChangeMoving forward with assessment (check those comments) Assessment comments will be added to the CourseLeaf proposal and forwarded on to theunit curriculum committee for appropriate action/response For units that do not have a unit curriculum committee review, workflow will be modifiedto include the previous approver/submitter This allows proposals to keep moving forward rather than being rolled back for edits.
