From the Pastor’s Desk2In preparation for Michele Moon’s departure, we are looking at the many jobs she does. How are we going to maintain the level ofservice which she allows us? We have been spoiled by her zeal and energy, but we would like to continue many of the things she hasbegun. We are looking at hiring another part-time Adult Religious Education Director, but part of the plan is to have parish volunteerstake on some of the ministries she has started. Here is a list of some of the things Michele does currently. If you have any interest intaking over a ministry or helping with one, please contact me or the office.R Care for and organize the parish library (books and DVDs).R Promote FORMED.ORG among parishioners, working with Kathy Defenbaugh & Michele Starke.R Schedule &/or lead communion services, most notably on Mondays.R Schedule promote retreats and days of recollection here or at Conception Abbey, for example.R Work with Ada Mae Wilmes in bringing the Eucharist to those in rest homes or shut-ins.R Run Catholic Divorce Survival program for those who have been or are going through a divorce.R Oversee nursing home visits – Rosary, prayer services, Bible study, Holy Communion.R Visit local jail.R Any of the Social Justice ministries: Liaison to Crisis Pregnancy Center, Children & Family Center, videos/films on poverty, work with Ministry Center, Pro-Life.R Coordinate First Friday CoffeesDuring her time here, Mrs. Moon has been proactive in taking on ministry wherever the opportunity presented itself. As you can see, herdeparture will leave a lot of opportunities for others to step up and minister to others in the name of St. Gregory’s parish. I don’t knowwhat the Lord has in mind, but this parish never ceases to amaze me at the generosity and resourcefulness of its parishioners. Justanother reason it is such a joy to be your pastor.Peace,Father Albert, O.S.B.Parish NotesA Lenten Pause for PrayerEach Wednesday from March 13th through April 10th,12:10 to 12:25pm, in the chapel at SSM Health - St. Francis Hospital. Whether your home is grand or humble, it is a gift from God. Abraham prepared a great sacrifice to theLord in gratitude for the home God gave him. How do you show your gratitude to God for the home He hasgiven you? Do you make a sacrifice of any kind? Do you return any of your finances to God,investing equally in your eternal home just as you invest in your earthly home?GREETERSHave you ever noticed how welcome you feel at our church when someone greets youat the door with a warm smile and handshake? Faith Formation52nd Sunday of Lent CLuke 9:28b-26Lectio:his face changed, going to accomplishin Jerusalem, saw his glory, good thatwe are hereEncountering Jesus:During prayer Jesus’ “face changed.”This phrase is biblical languageindicating that Jesus himselfchanged. The transfiguration is afleeting glimpse of the glory of hisrisen life. To come to this glory, however, Jesus could not remain on themountain, but had to continue hisjourney to Jerusalem and the Cross.During prayer we, too, encounterGod in such a way that we are invited to change. We, too, are emboldened to follow our life journey andembrace the Cross. And we, too, willbe glorified. Now and forever.April 11th, 9 AM—3 PMLenten Retreat IIConception AbbeywithFr.
