We know that if nature is to be restored at scale, we needmany more people on nature’s side.Nextdoor Nature will see thousands of people across the UK empoweredto lead action for wildlife within their communities, reclaiming and creatingnew green spaces for nature in rural and urban places on their doorstep.We are looking for a talented community organiser to work withNottinghamshire Wildlife Trust and National Lottery Heritage Fund on thistransformative partnership project enabling communities to help reversethe nature and climate emergencies.You will nurture and empower communities across Nottingham to helpthemselves through a series of facilitated and sustainable activities,leading to a ripple effect of people taking action for nature and the climate.:MainResponsibilities Scope, develop and facilitate work within identified communities.This will involve overseeing community liaisons, maintaining stronglinks with community leaders and champions and enablingcommunity leaders to share learning and experiences which promoteself-supporting, peer-led networks.Page 1 of 6Wilder Nottingham Officer – V1 April 2022

Support the empowerment of under-served and disconnected groupswithin their local communities, including young people, working withthem to enhance community cohesion and collaborative working. Support communities to develop, enabling project growth andtraining opportunities through both local and national resources. Champion the #TeamWilder approach, sharing skills, experience,knowledge and learning about community organising throughout thewhole Wildlife Trusts movement. Work with other team members to ensure there are clear routes forcommunity enquiries within the Trust and act as a key point of contactfor new and existing community links and representatives. Support monitoring, reporting and evaluation activity as required. Promote both local and national campaigns through communitynetworks, liaising with communications contacts to maximise theirreach and impact. Build positive relationships between the Trust and other similarcommunity-based organisations to support objectives, reach widerand more diverse audiences, and promote effective partnershipworking. Help launch a resource bank to enable community action resourcesharing across the movement by working with your team, otherWildlife Trusts and relevant partners to collect and collate anysuccessful resources Develop positive relationships with other organisations who aredelivering community engagement activity in the area, (environmentalNGOs, Local Authority practitioners, voluntary sector infrastructurebodies etc.).Page 2 of 6Wilder Nottingham Officer – V1 April 2022
