About DaikinDaikin is Europe’s leading manufacturer of highly energyefficient heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigerationsolutions for commercial, residential and industrial applicationsAbout fan coil unitsEssentially made up of a motor with a fan, a heating or coolingcoil connected to the building’s central hot water and coldwater system, and controller, a fan coil unit is simple heating andcooling device. It is designed to heat or cool the specific spacewhere it is installed and, since it is typically not connected toductwork, it is highly economical to install. The Daikin advancedBLDC fan coil units, can be fitted concealed or exposed tosuit your building and décor requirements. They are quietand very energy efficient, so are ideal for your house and formany commercial environments such as offices, small shops, apartments and hotels where spaces are relatively small andease of installation is essential. Daikin BLDC fan coil units are atechnically and aesthetically versatile solution.Today, Daikin is leadingthe way towards moreefficient and cost-effectivecomfort solutions. All Daikin products- residential andcommercial as well asindustrial - are seasonalefficient, they all reduceenergy and costs ina smart way.Daikin goes further. We have now changed to theinstantly controllable BLDC driven fan coil units thatdeliver up to 70% saving in energy usage in comparisonto the older AC technologies. This has big implicationsfor season efficiency as rapid modification to smalltemperature and humidity changes allows a close toset point performance thus reducing overall energyconsumption whilst delivering quality heating andcooling.

What is BLDC technology?fan impellerfan motorinverterfan windingBrushless Direct Current technology or BLDCmotors are also known as ElectronicallyCommutated (EC) motors and consist of amotor combined with an inverter. The BLDCmotor has a rotor that is a permanent magnet, the magnetic field of which interacts with therotating magnetic field produced by the statorwindings. This is combined with an electroniccommutation system that is made up of anelectronic controller plus an inverter. This powersthe stator by generating a magnetic field, therotation speed of which is adjusted in accordancewith the gap between the actual temperatureand the set point temperature, thus the rotorspeed is perfectly synchronised with the demand. The result is a stepless modulation of fan speed, which makes it possible to accurately regulate airflow in strict relation to the requirement in termsof cooling or heating capacity.

Why choose for fan coil units with1.Reduction in power consumptionup to 70%ACPower consumption (W)Having no rotor induced current, as in case of a traditionalfixed-speed AC motor driven fan coil unit, means a significantreduction in power consumption.BLDCElectrical energy usage is up to 70% lower compared to anAC motor, with a related reductionand top energy efficiency!in CO2 emissionsTotal cooling capacity (kW)2.Slight fluctuation in air temperature and relative humidityLocal climate controlledair temperature ( C)Time (s)Instant adjustment of air flow, based on thermal loadAC driven FCUBLDC driven FCUSet pointchanging, guarantees an almost constant level of roomtemperature and relative humidity, so assuring an absolutecomfort level.
