The choirperformance waswonderful, we all receivedmany positive commentsabout their greatperformance.Congratulations kids!Choir’s next job is toprepare songs for theANZAC Day ceremony,which will be held onThursday 25th April inthe second week of theupcoming holidays. Weneed a solid choir of atleast 30 students at theANZAC day ceremony inorder for them to beheard. Choir met onMonday to begin learningtheir repertoire. Pleasecheck your holidaytimetable, to see if youwill be available for theANZAC Day ceremony,and confirm that yourchild(ren) will be availableto sing, especially if theytell you they are in thechoir!Three-wayConferencesThank-you to all thoseable to come into schoolfor your three-wayconferences with classteachers. My thanks tothe teachers for the extratime and effort put intomeeting with parents, andproviding timely feedbackabout students firstweeks at Millthorpe PublicSchool.Tell Them From MeTwice each year seniorstudents in years 4, 5 and6 complete the online TellThem From Me surveysduring their IT lessonwith Miss Jordan. Theresults of the surveys areused to inform schoolplanning and resourcingfrom the studentsperspective.If you do not want yourchild to complete thesurveys in 2019, pleaseadvise the office.Special CanteenIs on this Friday! Enjoy.Easter Raffle driveKeep those Easter themeddonations rolling into theoffice for our annualEaster raffle, the specialtub is hiding in MrsSharps office, and is fillingup fast. The prizes will bedrawn at the Easter Hatparade on Friday 12thApril.Ticket books will be senthome shortly.NAPLAN OnlineNext AssemblyThe next assembly is forPrimary students, onFriday 29th March, at 2pmin the hall. 3/4M will beproviding the assemblyitem.Staff T&DStaff are currently involvedin Language, Literacy andLearning training, THRASStraining, writing andspelling workshops, andReading Eggs training.Staff will be replaced byexperienced casualteachers while they attendthese workshops in thecoming weeks.Special practice sessionsare being scheduled foryear 3 and 5 studentsduring the end of thisTerm.HCS BandCross CountryOur first combined bandday will be held thisWednesday, 20th March.Cross country trainingcontinues with Mr Masonin the mornings, inpreparation for the schoolevent, which will be heldon Thursday 4th April.Keep up that training girlsand boys! Music for free!On Friday night, at 7.30 pm theMacquarie Philharmonic Orchestraare performing at Scotts School,Bathurst. Entrance is free forchildren under 18. The repertoire isa reflective mix of Bach, Dvorak,Martinu and Edwards. Come enjoysome peaceful contemplative musicwith your children.Tickets for adults are 30, 25 forconcessions.Whole School AssemblyOur final Term 1 assembly will beheld on Friday 12th April at 9am, inthe hall. There will be specialperformances from the choir, and aspecial presentation from theMillthorpe Village Committee. Savethe date for a great assembly,followed by parents morning tea, andthe Easter Hat Parade followed bythe Easter chocolate raffle draw.Kind RegardsJo JackettComing UpThe SRC are planning a “Shave for aCure” day in the last week of Term—there will be a mufti day, colouredhair sprays and an importantmember of our school will be havingtheir head shaved.
