UNM Facts2000-2001IntroductionIn fall 2000, the campuses of the University of New Mexico served29,952 students, employed 2,901 faculty and 11,256 staff, andhad a total operating and capital budget of about 1.1 billion. Inthe previous academic year, UNM awarded 4,528 degrees andcertificates.This fact book presents data for all UNM campuses. UNMconsists of a Main Campus located in Albuquerque, whichincludes the Health Sciences Center; three branch campuseswhich have a two-year degree mission: UNM-Gallup, UNM-LosAlamos, and UNM-Valencia; an Education Center which functionsvery much like a branch campus: UNM-Taos; and an ExtendedUniversity which delivers courses, both on-site and via technology,throughout the state. The Upper Division & Graduate Centers atLos Alamos and Santa Fe are incorporated into the ExtendedUniversity in this year's report. The UNM Health Sciences Centerand its programs–which include the School of Medicine, Collegeof Nursing, and College of Pharmacy–are included in the UNMFact Book, sometimes as part of the Main Campus and sometimesseparately. Footnotes and labels should make it clear in eachcase what is included.UNM's Extended University also includes the Division of Continuing Education, which has over 55,000 enrollmentsevery year in both credit and non-credit courses.2000-2001 UNM Facts - Page v
