B.DRAFT ORDERBournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council(Regulation of Traffic Movement and Speed Limits)(Magna Road) (Amendment No. 55) Order 2021Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council ("the Council") makes the following Order undersections 81, 82, 83, 84, Part IV of Schedule 9 and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police inaccordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended (“theAct”), and all other enabling powers.1.The Borough of Poole (Various Roads) (Regulation of Traffic Movement and Speed Limits) OrderNumber 14 is hereby amended as follows:A. The following shall be deleted from Schedule 5.03 – 40mph Maximum Speed Limit:STREET NAMESTARTFINISHMagna Roadfrom its junction with Queento a point 210 metres north-west ofAnne Driveits junction with Wood LaneB. The following shall be inserted into Schedule 5.03 – 40mph Maximum Speed Limit:2.STREET NAMESTARTFINISHMagna Roadfrom its junction with Queento a point 130 metres north-west ofAnne Driveits junction with Knighton Lane.Magna Road shall become a Restricted Road as defined in Section 81 of the Act from a point210 metres north-west of its junction with Wood Lane to a point 130 metres north-west of itsjunction with Knighton Lane.3.Save as hereby amended the Borough of Poole (Various Roads) (Regulation of TrafficMovement and Speed Limits) Order Number 14 shall remain in full force and effect.4.This Order shall come into operation on the XXXX and may be cited as: Bournemouth,Christchurch and Poole Council (Regulation of Traffic Movement and Speed Limits) (MagnaRoad) (Amendment No. 55) Order 2021.

THE POOLE (MAGNA ROAD) (REGULATION OF TRAFFIC MOVEMENT AND SPEED LIMITS)(AMENDMENT NUMBER 28) ORDER 2017The Council of The Borough and County of the Town of Poole, the Highway Authority in exercise of its powers under The HighwaysAct 1980, The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, The Local Authorities Traffic Order (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations1996 and The Traffic Management Act 2004, as amended hereby makes the following Order:1. The Poole (Various Roads) (Regulation of Traffic Movement and Speed Limits) (Consolidation of Orders made for the Regulationof Vehicle Movements and Speed Limits) Order No. 14 be amended as follows:A. E.STATEMENT OF STATUTORY REASONSBournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council proposes to make the Traffic Order detailedin this document to: Deliver a series of pedestrian and cycle improvements along Magna Road.The Council as Highway Authority propose to make the above order in discharge of its dutyunder Section 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, “to secure the expeditious,convenient and safe movement of vehicular and other traffic (including pedestrians)”, inaccordance with the provisions of Section 1(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984namely:(a)for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using theroad or any other road or for preventing the likelihood ofany such danger arising; or(b)for preventing damage to the road or to any building on ornear the road; or(c)for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road ofany class of traffic (including pedestrians); or(d)for preventing the use of the road by vehicular traffic of akind which, or its use by vehicular traffic in a manner which,is unsuitable having regard to the existing character of theroad or adjoining property; or(e)(without prejudice to paragraph (d) above) for preservingthe character of the road in a case where it is specificallysuitable for use by persons on horseback or on foot; or(f)for preserving or improving amenities of the area throughwhich the road runs; or(g)for any of the purposes specified in paragraphs (a) to (c) ofsubsection (1) of Section 87 of the Environment Action1995 (air quality)
