ST MARY STAR OF THE SEAPARISHTHIRTY THIRD SUNDAY INORDINARY TIMENOVEMBER 15TH, 2015MASS SCHEDULEST. MARY STAR OF THE SEA CHURCHCLOSED FOR RENOVATIONSEFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 1STHOLY SAVIOR CHURCHEFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 1ST:SUNDAY AT 7:00AM, 8:30AM & 10AMMONDAY – THURSDAY AT 8:30AMSATURDAY VIGIL AT 5:15PMCONFESSIONS AT 4:15-5:00PMMission StatementWe the people of St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish in Ocean City,Maryland, want to respond to God’s love for us by doing His will, tolive the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to love each other as Jesusloved us. In this way, He can live, as Risen Lord, in our midst and attract allpeople to the Father. As part of the Church, we want to be a “Home and School ofCommunion” where, through the celebration and living out the Sacraments, andvarious ministries, each member can live in unity as a child of God, building up theKingdom of God until Jesus will come again in glory.

“That they may all be one” (Jn 17:21)Dear parishioners and friends,The end of our liturgical year is getting closer. Thefeast of Christ the King is on Nov 22nd and afterwards wewill be entering the holy season of Advent. The Gospelcontinues to challenge us and we want to continue totake each word and put them into practice because weknow that, in doing so, we will become more aware ofGod’s love for us, and, in the end, capable of living ourlives more fully. The Gospel of this Sunday shows to us Jesus who,as He comes out of the temple, announces itsdestruction. He actually reminds us that everything wesee now, we know now and we rely on to make us happywill be soon gone. But this is not a form of annihilation –this “end” happens because Jesus comes in glory. As weprepare ourselves to meditate on the “last things” (theend of the world, our own death, etc.) we know that whatGod wants it is not a loss but a gain, because the “end”coincides with His all fulfilling presence. Our Parish Christmas Bazaar is getting closer. It’s thetime of the year when our office building turns into thismagical wonderland, welcoming people from near and farplaces. Once again, you are invited to participate and tobring a friend or two. After each Mass, some of the members of the Knights ofColumbus, the largest fraternal catholic organization in theChurch, will be available outside of Church to talk to youand answer any questions you may have about the Organization and, hopefully, find a way to become a member. TheOrganization is open to all Catholic Men in good standingwith the Church.Remember that on Thanksgiving Day, Mass will be celebrated at 9AM at Holy Savior Church. Of course, we willalso gather all food donations for our Pantry. The membersof St Vincent DePaul society will be more than happy to tellyou which item is most in need.Faith Development: for yourprayer time and meditationIn DepthHow can we enter into this wonderful reality? Weneed to live with a watchful expectation and sereneattitude knowing that God is holding history firmly in Hishands.Read in the BibleWhat we can do? We must Live the word of God. Whenwe put them into practice God’s Word comes true "Mywords shall not pass away."The images of the Final JudgmentPsalm 125Mat 13:36-43Rev 14:14-20Is this true? The answer comes from our experience. How many times have we experienced that when we putthe Word into practice we get a taste of eternity to ourlive, the presence of God becomes more real andstronger! And then if we look at the saints we can safelysay that this expression is true. The Necessity of being always readyMat 25:1-13Jams 5:7-11Why do we remember St. Francis, St. Dominic, St. JohnBosco, and all the newly canonized saints? Becausetheir life is founded on the solid rock of the Word of Godlived out. And they are still people who strive to imitatethem: the Franciscans, the Dominicans, the Salesians, with all the disciples of the various old and new charismsthat the Holy Spirit has sown throughout history. Let usalso to listen and to live the Lord's words as words of life.CCC 613-614, 1365-1367: Christ’s one perfect sacrifice andthe EucharistThe day of the LordIsa 13:6-13;Ez 37:1-14,38-39From the Catechism of the Catholic ChurchCCC1038-1050: The Last Judgment; hope of a new heavenand a new earthFrom the Early Church“As for us, wo in this present age are God’s chosen people,a priestly race, the Church of the living God separated fromall the impious and ungodly, may we be found separatedfrom the darnel in the age to come as well, and united tothose who are saved in Christ our Lord, who is blessed forever. THIRTY THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIMENovemberI.the month to recallall the reasons we have to bethankful! I am very blessed, so Ihave so many blessings that Ithank God for daily! I am oh so great for them!We have an awesome group young men and women thatwork to make our parish the best it can be! Last weekend many of them gave up their Saturday to show ourlittle ones a good time and to teach them that no matterwhat Jesus is with us! They arrived early, cleaned, set uppropsI.found costumes and were totally medieval! Theyran the games and told stories and taught lessons! Whenall the fun was over, together with all of the adults wereturn the hall to as good as new! On Sunday, we met fordinner and our T.O.P. meeting. They discussed all thethings we have plannedITwo of the upcoming eventswhich our teens will run during the Bazaar are the KiddieKarnival and craft room . Rita rizes. From the desk ofMark J. Record, Principal As part of Vocations Awareness Week, Mrs. Wiest talkedwith her 3rd grade religion class about ways they can talk toGod and listen to His call. She asked, what is one thing youwould ask of the Lord if you could only ask for one thing? Here are a few of their insightful responses:·········I would ask for internal happiness because I alwayswant to be happy.I would ask God for world peace because lots ofpeople are dying for their country.I would ask for forgiveness because I’ve done stuff Ishouldn’t have done.If I could ask the Lord anything, I would ask for ourfamily to have more peace because I think that wouldbe very helpful to our family.I would ask, “Can you help me learn more about Godbecause I want to be a better follower of Jesus?”I would ask God for love, because love is hard to get.I would ask the Lord to guide me to not sin because Iwant to be a better person. If I could ask the Lord only one thing, I would ask Himif He could make sure that all the bad people wouldbe nice. I would ask that because I hear about thestuff that happens. I don’t like that feeling. If I could ask God for only one thing, it would be myfamily, because if I didn’t have one I’d be lonely. Iwould have no one to love and care for.The 3rd grade students were also asked to write about whatthey imagined Heaven would be like. In grammar class, they have been learning about adjectives, so they usedmany descriptive details:·······I would see lots of mourning doves, peace goingaround, and angels going to earth and helpingpeople.I think it would be gorgeous. It would be a castle madeout of gold.It would be peaceful, loving, joyful, beautiful, and themost wonderful place I’ve ever been to.I would see a beautiful sky with God, Jesus, and all theangels. There is a large, beautiful gate to Heaven.God will welcome you to everything.I think it would be an amazing place. Everybody wouldbe happy and nobody would argue. In God’s house, I would not see any houses, onlycastles because God treats everyone like kings andqueens. In God’s kingdom, there would only behappiness and no best or worst. In God’s house, everyone is best.I think God’s house will look magical. It will haveclouds, be quiet, have a gate, and be very colorful. Iwould thank God for everything He gave me.
