16Annexure 1.3Report and recommendations based on the analysis of theFeed back received from outgoing students (2012 - 2013)Chemistry As per opinion of 76% students, they were getting prescribed reading material easilywhile only 16% students felt that they were getting it with difficulty. Last year 82%found easy availability. This should be considered and need to be improved. 80% students were satisfied with the discussion of assignment in the class which isgood achievement for department. 16% students perceive internal assessment as unfair which was only 2% last year.Discussing students’ performance in detail would help to assure fairness of theexercise. 24% students feel that teacher’s approach for extracurricular activities is eitherdiscouraging or indifferent. Students’ participation in extracurricular activities shouldbe motivated and taken as conducive to their all round development.Microbiology Last year 31% students found the syllabus challenging while this year it is 91%Which indicates students’ increased interest in the subject. Last year 97% students obtained prescribed reading material easily while this yearonly 78 % students felt availability of prescribed reading in easy manner. This needto be improved by timely provision of study material. 91% students were satisfied with the discussion of assignment in the class which isgood achievement for department.Food and Nutrition 25% students found the syllabus challenging indicating need for improved studentorientation for the subject and 63% students felt that course is difficult to understandbut 75% students are satisfied with syllabus explanation. Last year 82% felt that the teacher had discussed assignment in a complete mannerwhile this year it has improved up to 94% and they were satisfied with that. Last year only 76% felt that they were provided prescribed reading material and thisyear 94% students felt the same. 17 19% students feel that the approach of the staff is either rude or indifferent. Thissuggests a need for establishing better teacher-student rapport.Home Management In previous year 43 % students found the syllabus challenging while this year 54%students found the same, which indicatesbetter orientation for the subject.Previously 43% thought that it was difficult but this year 64% students felt that it iseasy to understand. This indicated improved inclination for the subject. 95% students felt that the internal assignment was fair and 5% felt it not fair. 91% students were satisfied with the discussion of assignment in the class which isgood achievement for department. During previous year only 43% students felt that teacher’s approach forextracurricular activities was cooperative while it has been improved positively andreached upto 91% this year. This has happened due to intense discussion in thebeginning of the year.General Home Science 67% students felt that the syllabus was adequate and 84% felt that it is manageable. 17% thought that assignments were partly discussed while 83% students felt that theassignments were discussed fully by teacher in class. Last year 100% students felt that prescribed reading material was easily availablewhile this year 83% felt it was easily available. This should be considered and needto be improved by enhancing access to study material and devoting additional time forcomprehensive discussion of assigned work.
