SanderOn July 28, 1914, World WarI began when the Austro-Hungarians fired the first shots inpreparation for the invasion ofSerbia after the assassinationof heir-to-the-throne ArchdukeFranz Ferdinand of Austria.More than nine million combatants were killed during the morethan four years of turmoil, whichended on Nov. 11, 1918, makingit one of the deadliest conflictsin history. At the time, it was simply calledthe World War, or Great War, andit included all the economic powers in the world divided into twoalliances. The Allies consisted ofthe United Kingdom, France andRussia; and the Central Powerswere Germany and Austria-Hungary. Italy, Japan and the UnitedStates joined the Allies, and theOttoman (Turkish) Empire andBulgaria sided with the CentralPowers. After the Russian governmentPhoto Courtesy: RevisionWorld.comHeadline announcing the end of the first World War in the Los Beach DailyTelegram on s on Nov. 11, 1918.collapsed in March of 1917, thewar headed toward a resolutionwhen the Austro-HungarianEmpire and Germany agreedto an armistice. By the end ofthe war, the German, Russian,Austro-Hungarian and Ottomanempires ceased to exist, with thelatter two becoming dismantled. This lead to the maps of Europeand Southwest Asia being redrawn, and some independentnations being restored and evencreated. As a consequence, TheLeague of Nations was formedwith the goal of preventingfurther global wars. RenewedEuropean nationalism and thehumiliation of Germany contributed to a rise in fascism, and anyfurther hopes of prevention weredashed with the culmination ofWorld War II.Mr. Pollo500 N. For now theyare said to be waiving the 57.50 violation penalty feethrough Labor Day, as longas the toll is paid within a 30day time frame. They are alsoinstalling more signage, andflashing information on nearbyfreeway information boards tohelp guide those heading forthe toll booths. It makes sense that the confusion has added significantlyto the number of calls cominginto the toll agencies. Theyhave temporarily increasedcustomer service representatives to help alleviate the backlog and provide assistance.Visit wwwthetollroads.comto gather more information. You can pay online, or evendownload their payment app,One-Time Toll, to help youon your way. Just remember, don’t stop at the booth, justhead on through or you’ll holdup the line. If you go through atoll booth, you’ll have to pay itin some fashion. With a littlepatience and education, it canbe penalty-free.Photo Courtesy: RevisionWorld.comorg, download the free RUSDmobile app for iOS and Android devices, or
