Thegroup started in 2006, sitting in the middle of a living room floor, encouraged byLisanne Miller who graciously traveled to get us started. After a few months the group outgrew that living room and began meeting at asmall church nearby in Nashville. One Sunday, the minister announced that thehookers would be meeting after church! Seeing quite a few raised eyebrows, ourrug group decided we needed a name! That little church is located near thebeautiful big world-famous span of free-standing bridge on the Natchez TraceParkway, so the rug group became Natchez Trace Rug Hookers. We continue tomeet in that small church – Emmanuel Presbyterian Church – and are now proudto begin 2019 as the 1st ATHA chapter in Tennessee.
