In Australia they will workon a fascinating and diverse range of subjects includingocean acidification, the Australian Indigenous languageWarlpiri, detection and prevention of fraud, solartechnology and the population dynamics of theSouthern Bent-wing Bat.Since the commencement of the Australian-AmericanFulbright Program in 1949 we have welcomed morethan 2070 Fulbright U.S. Scholars to Australia andbid farewell to at least 2700 distinguished FulbrightAustralian Scholars to the U.S.The Fulbright experience plays a pivotal role inpromoting and advancing innovations across animpressive range of disciplines. It provides recipientsan opportunity to broaden their global vision, enhancetheir international academic competence, and developprofessional networks and friendships. This in-countryexperience takes place within a framework that issupported through funding by sponsorship bodiesand engagement with leading-edge mentors.

We greatly value the contribution and appreciate thesupport from all of the Fulbright Program’s supporters, especially the CSIRO and the ANU College of BusinessEconomics for each supporting a Fulbright PostgraduateScholarship.I wish all of the 2011 Fulbright U.S. Scholars the verybest during their time in Australia.Dr Tangerine HoltExecutive DirectorAustralian-American Fulbright Commission
