From the PresidentThe Trenholm State Community College 2021 Fact Book provides demographic data on enrollmenttrends, faculty/staff characteristics, and fiscal resources. The data serves as a roadmap for decisions regarding the future growth of our programs as well as growth in student population. The data is critical todelivery of services to business and industry and the local community.Trenholm State offers more than 34 programs of study that prepare students for high-wage, high-demandcareers in the River Region and for the pursuit of continued education at four-year colleges and universities. To meet the needs of business and industry, Trenholm State has non-credit offerings that includetruck driving, certified nursing assisting, medication assistant, and line worker training. Our smallclass sizes and engaging faculty and staff create an academic environment that fosters success here atTrenholm and beyond graduation.I hope this publication will be useful to not only our employees but also to all those interested in aworld-class education in central Alabama. Councill Trenholm State Community College(Trenholm State) located in Montgomery, Alabamaserves as an educational and economic asset forthe state of Alabama by offering associate degreesand certificate programs that prepare students forfurther education, fulfilling careers and lifelonglearning. Organization and AdministrationH. Councill Trenholm State Community College isa two-year public institution of higher educationoperating as part of the Alabama Community College System. The organization and administrationof H. Councill Trenholm State Community Collegeare under the supervision and direction of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trusteesand the appointed Chancellor of the Alabama Community College System. The Board of Trustees iscomposed of the Governor, as an ex- officio member, and eight appointed members. The Collegepresident is appointed by the Board of Trusteesupon the recommendation of the Chancellor.For the purpose of assisting the Board ofTrustees in carrying out its authority and responsibilities for each of the colleges, the Board ofTrustees appoints a Chancellor who also serves asChief Executive Officer of the Alabama CommunityCollege System. The Chancellor serves at the pleasure of the Board of Trustees but it is customary forthe Chancellor to have a multi-year contract.The College president is appointed by the Boardof Trustees and heads the College's organizationalstructure. Specific areas of operation include Student Services; Instructional Services; Career Technical Education, Community Engagement andGrants; Workforce Development; Finance and Administrative Services. Each of these areas functionsunder the guidance of the Executive Vice Presidentwho reports directly to the President. The Presidentreports to the Chancellor and is responsible for operating the college within the Alabama CommunityCollege System Board of Trustees policies and allapplicable state and federal laws.Alabama Community College System Board of TrusteesThe Alabama Community College System Boardof Trustees plays a critical role in the education ofhundreds of thousands of adults each year.
