Academic CalendarUndergraduate BulletinSummer CoursesStudents are allowed to take a maximum of 18 credits in the summer – which would a heavy workloadfor most. Typically, very little aid is given for summer courses; therefore, we always recommend thestudent also consult with Financial Services to plan for the summer tuition bill.Summer Courses at Another InstitutionThe course must be approved by the Dean’s office before taking a course outside St. John’s in thesummer. Students must submit an Outside Institution Course Request (OICR) found on the Registrationpage of their UIS account. They submit one request for each class they would like to take outside, and itmust match or be the equivalent to a St. John’s course. The request is sent to the Dean’s Office where itwill be reviewed, and the student will be informed whether the course is approved.
