If youwait until the day your assignments are due before getting started, you will most likelyhave problems. Under normal circumstances a certain amount of technical difficultiesand misinterpretations are expected. When you are working under a tight deadline itmay not be possible for you to get your problems solved before the due date especiallyif you start on the assignment the day or night it is due. You cannot take this class inyour "spare" time. I suggest you set aside 3 to 4 days a week, preferably 2 to 3 hoursper session, for this class. Attending is reading the weekly announcements, reading theCourse Content pages, reading the textbook and submitting assignments.For this to be a rewarding and positive educational experience you must manage yourtime wisely. Develop a schedule so you are completing course work on a regular basis.This may be at the same time and day each week, or as time permits. If you get behind,it doesn’t matter how smart you might be, it becomes very difficult to catch up andcomplete the requirements for the course.Again, you should make every effort to complete graded assignments by our deadlines.You are responsible for all work and Canvas announcements so check the siteregularly. It refers toacceptable codes of practice for interacting with others while online. In order to preventmisunderstandings and promote engaging and meaningful collaboration, extra caremust be taken into how you express yourself in your written communication.How to Communicate Be professional as you communicate. Reread your written text before posting oremailing. In much of the corporate world, writing in all caps is considered yellingand, therefore, is not acceptable in any online communication, nor is texting lingo.Be considerate. Think about how your words affect others.Be respectful of the opinions of others and respect your instructor.Be calm. Page 7 Humor and sarcasm. Because there are no visual cues in distance education,humor and sarcasm are impossible to discern. Be very careful when interjectinghumor and refrain from using any remarks that are sarcastic in nature.Harassment and other offensive behavior. The online learning environment isno place to harass, threaten, or embarrass others. Comments that can be viewed,as offensive, sexist, or racially motivated will not be tolerated.Offensive material. Students may not post, transmit, promote, or distributecontent that is racially, religiously, or ethnically offensive or is harmful, abusive,vulgar, sexually explicit, otherwise potentially offensive.Copyrights and intellectual property. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. This exam combines assessments measuring academic attainmentand technical skills and is used for one of the accountability measures for the BOTprogram. The technical skills assessments are measures to completers at thepostsecondary levels and are used to ensure the quality of educational programs and tomaximize student achievement. The CPAS is required of Business and OfficeTechnology (BOT) students who plan to graduate with Associate in Applied Sciencedegree. This exam is scheduled three times a year, spring, fall, and summer. Pleasenotify Mrs. Perry as soon as possible if you plan to graduate this semester in one of theBOT options offered on the Rankin Campus. This test is mandatory.GENERAL INFORMATIONWhat should I do if a discrepancy is found with my grade? 1. Double-check the errorand try to determine what caused it. 2. Send your instructor an email explaining yourfindings. 3. Trust that any error in grading will be corrected quickly.What if I cannot get my work submitted on time?
