These Blast Resistant Enclosures (BREs) were designedusing nuclear shock wave analysis for towers up to 60m tall. KHATRI INTERNATIONAL, INC.MESA VISTA HOAMesa Vista HOA retained Dr. Khatri and Khatri International Inc. to providestructural and civil engineering expertise for reconstruction of 289 units in 88buildings. The HOA had several intricate structural retrofit issues comprising ofseismic deficiencies, construction defects, structural design problems, missingfire walls, and civil engineering issues. The civil engineering issues involveddrainage, landslide, deep seated failures, water migration, settlement, andsubsidence.This project entailed 5 years of professional services and total construction costof 10 Million.Dr. Khatri recommended several solutions that reduced the final scope of repairto a manageable budget and reduced the total reconstruction effort to the primarykey items for making the buildings sustainable12 P a g eSTATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS – STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING
KHATRI INTERNATIONAL, INC.Shoppers World EQ Damage:A 200,000 sq. ft. storage building that was severely damaged in the 1994Earthquake. Dr. Khatri worked on the structural investigation, analysis, damageassessment, scope of repair, and final design of reconstruction plan.Anaheim Stadium Scoreboard Sign Collapse:The Sony Jumbotron sign collapsed after the 1994 Northridge Earthquake due toseismic shaking. The cause of loss was investigated and a damage report wasissued for the insurance carrier.Valencia Fairways HOA EQ Damage Case:This project entailed 304 units in Valencia that were damaged from the 1994Earthquake and previous construction and design defects. The scope of lossreport was prepared by Dr. Khatri and the construction defects addressed insubsequent repair plan. Dr. Khatri was the Engineer of Record for thereconstruction.Palm Desert Resorter HOA Construction Defect Case:Dr. Khatri worked with the Palm Desert Resorter on their construction defect postreconstruction plan. The scope included civil engineering road reconstruction,seismic upgrades, floor slab repair due to cracking, soil subsidence, and waterproofing issues.HOA Case Work:Dr. Khatri has worked with large Home Owner Associations on their repair,maintenance, and reconstruction efforts in Palm Desert, Malibu, and OrangeCounty to provide civil engineering, structural engineering, geotechnical,construction management, and reconstruction expertise.
