Clinics & ServicesHostos Dental Hygiene Patient Care FacilityThe Dental Hygiene Patient Care Facility at Hostos Community College is a teaching unit that provides comprehensivedental care to the community while adhering to the most current sterilization techniques.Treatments at the Hostos Dental Hygiene Patient Care Facility are Free and include:Thorough Medical & Dental HistoryPatient Dental Health EducationVital Signs RecordingsOral RadiographsHead and Neck EvaluationsOral Prophylaxis (cleaning)Oral InspectionFluoride TreatmentsGingival AssessmentSealantsDental Decay DetectionNutritional AssessmentPatients in need of further evaluation, diagnosis and treatment will be referred to their own dentist or neighboring dentalclinics.Appointments are normally two hours long, and services require more than one visit in order to provide comprehensivedental hygiene care. The first visit consists of a medical and dental history assessment and evaluations necessary toprovide the appropriate treatment. Patients under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a legal guardian.During the fall semester, student hygienists see patients on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. During the springsemester, they see patients Monday through Friday.
