The Good News LetterImmanuel Lutheran ChurchWhile at the Seminary we discussed the fact that many people are just simply unaware of when they should contact theirpastor. Often we think the pastor is too busy for us to botherhim with what we are going through. The Bible tells us“For everything there is a season, and a timefor every matter under heaven: a time to beborn, and to die, a time to plant, and to harvest; a time to kill, and to heal; a time tobreak down, and to build up; a time to weep,and to laugh; a time to mourn, and to dance;a time to embrace, and to stop; a time tokeep silent, and to speak; a time to love, andto hate; a time for war, and for peace.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. The beginning of each new year nearlyalways brings thoughts of renewal, revival and hopes of abetter year to come than theone just ended. I would like towish each of you more blessings than you can imaginehowever, don’t forget to stopevery now and then and countthe many that we already havebut that we don’t think aboutoften. Be thankful for health,family, friends, shelter, food,our church and the many otheritems we may take for granteddaily.For those of you that wereelected to board, committeeand/or council positions,please note that the 2019church planning meeting willbe held starting at 10 am onJanuary 12. Pizza lunch will beprovided. Please come with arefreshed mind and a positiveoutlook for our church in thenew year.Additionally, I want to thankeach of you that returned a survey related to the direction weshould take regarding the preschool. I have posted the results in the hallway for all to beable to see but if you have anyquestions on these results,please let me know and I canclarify. At our last ChurchCouncil meeting, we reviewedthe results of the survey andagreed to call a special voter’smeeting to be held after fellowship on January 13 to voteas a church on the future of thepreschool.
