Honored GuestsGUEST SPEAKERJenny ReganCEO and President, Key TechJenny is the CEO and President of Key Tech, a Baltimore technologydevelopment firm she co-founded in 1998. Key Tech designs and commercializesnew medical technology products for startups and global healthcare companies.Recent Key Tech projects include several front-line Covid testing instrumentsand kits, as well as Covid vaccine and therapy delivery products. Key Tech isalso active in DNA sequencing, cancer screening, robotic surgical instruments,and home health technologies. The employee-owned company has 50 full timeengineers and designers, many of whom graduated from the Clark School.Jenny is a registered Professional Engineer holding bachelor’s degrees in physicsfrom Georgetown University and in mechanical engineering from the CatholicUniversity of America. Prior to Key Tech, Jenny consulted to power industryand medical clients at MPR Associates in DC and at Corey Regan Inc., whichshe also co-founded. Her work has contributed to the advancement of fluid flowmeasurement, control systems, and complex healthcare instruments. Jenny holdspatents and has published papers in proceedings of the International Societyof Automation (ISA), the American Nuclear Society (ANS), and the AmericanSociety of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).At Maryland, Jenny has been a supporter of the Clark School for nearly twodecades, as a member and then chair of the Advisory Board for the Women inEngineering Program, and more recently as a member and now chair of the ClarkSchool Board of Visitors, which supports and advises the dean. Honored GuestsGRADUATE STUDENT SPEAKERKristina StephensPh.D. ’20, BioengineeringKristina Stephens is graduating from the Clark School with a doctoral degreein bioengineering. Kristina previously completed her bachelor’s degree at theUniversity of Maine where she double-majored in chemical and biologicalengineering. She then worked for three years at IBM as a process engineer inmicroelectronics, before choosing to pursue graduate studies at the University ofMaryland. She was awarded the University of Maryland Flagship Fellowship tosupport her graduate studies.She is a primary or co-author on nine peer reviewed publications and haspresented her research at local and national conferences including the AmericanChemical Society and Biomedical Engineering Society annual meetings.At the Clark School, Kristina joined Professor William Bentley’s research lab,where she studied quorum sensing, a bacterial form of cell-cell communication.Her research focused on co-opting quorum sensing circuits to engineer cellbehavior in co-cultures and consortia. She was selected to be a National Instituteof Health (NIH) T32 Trainee in Host-Pathogen Interactions. She has beenhonored by the graduate school as an Outstanding Graduate Research Assistantand was awarded first place prize in the 2020 Clark School of Engineering Dean’sDoctoral Dissertation competition. Kristina has recently started a postdoctoralposition in Professor Lee Lynd’s lab at Dartmouth College. She is studyingmicrobial deconstruction of lignocellulose for biofuels production. Honored GuestsUNDERGRADUATE STUDENT SPEAKERAnne-Laurence NemorinB.S. ’20, Electrical EngineeringAnne-Laurence Nemorin is graduating from the Clark School with a bachelor’sdegree in electrical engineering. During her time here, Anne co-founded a sportstechnology startup called Ionic ST where she works on manufacturing, hardware,software, and even hiring efforts. Anne has previous internship experience atE-Power, a heavy fuel oil plant where she learned about power generation anddistribution and got hands-on experience with all of the equipment. She alsoresearched and modeled the effects of different input stimuli shapes on bilateralcochlear implant users’ sound source localization cues at the Technical Universityof Munich in Germany.Anne has held several leadership roles in student organizations and on-campusgroups. She served as the liaison and the technical outreach and community helpchair for the Black Engineers Society, organizing events to expose middle andhigh school minority students to STEM-related fields. Anne also served twiceas a teaching fellow for the electrical and computer engineering department’sEngineering, Ethics, and Humanity course, and also as a Guided Study SessionsLeader for Precalculus and Calculus II. Anne studied abroad in Madrid throughthe Clark School.Upon graduation, Anne is planning to continue to work with her companyIonic ST to bring their product to market, as she seeks experience in the powergeneration and renewable energy fields.WINTER COMMENCEMENT 20207

Hereceived the A. James Clark Schoolof Engineering Dean’s Award forOutstanding service and was initiatedinto Omicron Delta Kappa. Postgraduation, he plans to join Accentureas a technology analyst in WashingtonD.C.Leo is a first-generation collegestudent and exemplified his passionfor education and improvinginfrastructure by pursuing a Bachelor’sdegree in Civil Engineering at theUniversity of Maryland. He wasactive on campus, serving as thevice president in Chi Epsilon, thecivil engineering honors society andpresident-elect of ASHE’s Universityof Maryland chapter. He alsoworked for the university as the civilengineering fluid mechanics tutor.After graduation, he plans to workfull time with The Whiting-TurnerContracting Company and continueworking towards his Master ofEngineering degree at the Universityof Maryland in order to pursue hisgoal of becoming a community collegeprofessor.Stefan Theodoru started his collegecareer at the age of 15 at HagerstownCommunity College, where hepursued an Associate’s Degreein Business until graduating in2012. From there he transferredto Johns Hopkins Carey BusinessSchool to complete his studies inbusiness, graduating in 2014 witha Bachelor’s in Business. He thenworked in the business industry forfour years, earning several awardsduring that time for outstandingperformance.
