ASHRAEThailand chapter Newsletter September 2005Bangkok Refrigeration, Heating, Ventilation andAir-Conditioning 2005 (Bangkok RHVAC 2005) promises toset new benchmarks in the industry as it builds on thesuccess of the previous biennial fairs, with advances in indoorair quality chosen as this yearûs highlight.Bangkok RHVAC 2005, which is the fifth of its kind,has been held alongside the first Bangkok Electric andElectronics 2005 fair from September 14-18 at the BangkokInternational Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC). The current show was participated by 154 companies. Thaicompanies numbered 126, while 28 came from overseas RHVAC product lines ranging most from room airconditioners (RACs) to commercial air conditioning as well as many of refrigeration systems were exhibited bylocal manufacturers. A variety of compressors were also exhibited by manufacturers themselves or through theirlocal agents.Thailand is one of the worldûs major air-conditioner manufacturing countries. In 2003, Thailand rankedas the worldûs third largest air-conditioner exporters, after the Peopleûs Republic of China and the United States,with an export value of US 1,449 million. Thailand has captured 8% of the worldûs market share. Some 70% oftotal Thai exports went to Europe, the United States, and Asia.
