The website includes a response form for comments orobjections.The documents will also be available to inspect at West Sussex County Council, CountyHall, Chichester during normal office hours, and at the Crawley Public Library, SouthgateAvenue, Crawley during normal library opening hours.Any objections or comments about the proposals must be received by 8 August 2018.These may be sent via the response form on the website, in writing to: TRO Team, WestSussex County Council, The Grange, Tower Street, Chichester, PO19 1RH; or by e-mailto: tro.team@westsussex.gov.uk. WEST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL((CRAWLEY BOROUGH) (PARKING PLACES AND TRAFFIC REGULATION)(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2010)(IFIELD DRIVE & SHIPLEY ROAD AMENDMENT) ORDER 201*STATEMENT OF REASONS FOR PROPOSING TO MAKE THE ORDERThe County Council in exercise of their powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act1984, propose to introduce a permanent Order the effect of which will be to introducelengths of prohibition of waiting at all times (double yellow lines) on sections of Ifield Driveand Shipley Road.Vehicles are routinely parking too close to the junctions of Ifield Driver and Shipley Road soas to obstruct visibility and affect the free flow of traffic. Crawley County Local Committeeapproved progression of a Traffic Order to resolve this issue.Parking in too close proximity to junctions adversely affects visibility for drivers andpedestrians. Obstructive parking practice is common place in this location due in part tohigh parking demand around The Mill Primary School and commuter parking for nearbyIfield Station.It is proposed to introduce double yellow lines in and around the junctions of Ifield Driveand Shipley Road to enforce Highway Code Rule 243. This aims to discourage driversfrom parking in unsuitable locations, deter footway parking and will mean thatenforcement action can be taken against drivers contravening the waiting restrictions.The opportunity is being taken to amend the Order to include existing restrictions on thesouthern side of Church Road east of Old Brighton Road and west of Lowfield Way.This Order is proposed for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road, toprevent damage to the highway and to facilitate the passage on the road of any class oftraffic (including pedestrians).Plan Nos.
