Guidance is providedon the hazards associated with various kinds of machinery and thecontrol of hazardous energy sources (lockout/tagout). The coursepresents an approach to machinery inspection that enablesparticipants to recognize hazards and to provide options to achieveabatement. These hazards include mechanical motions and actionscreated by points of operation and other machinery processes.OSHA 2225 - Respiratory ProtectionRichmond: August 25-28 75026 hoursThis course covers the requirements for the establishment,maintenance, and monitoring of a respirator program. Topicsinclude terminology, OSHA standards, NIOSH certification, andmedical evaluation recommendations. Program highlights includelaboratories on respirator selection, qualitative fit testing, and theuse of a large array of respiratory and support equipment for hands-on training.OSHA 2255 - Principles of ErgonomicsRichmond: July 21-23 75018 hoursThis course covers the use of ergonomic principles to recognize,evaluate, and control work place conditions that cause or contributeto musculoskeletal and nerve disorders. Topics include workphysiology, anthropometry, musculoskeletal disorders, use of videodisplay terminals, and risk factors such as vibration, temperature,material handling, repetition, and lifting and transfers in healthcare. OSHA 3095 - Electrical StandardsRichmond: October 6-9 75026 hoursThis shortened version of OSHA 3090 is designed to provide thestudent with a survey of OSHA's electrical standards and thehazards associated with electrical installations and equipment.Topics include single- and three-phase systems, cord and plugconnected and fixed equipment, grounding, ground fault circuitinterrupters, and safety-related work practices. Emphasis isplaced on electrical hazard recognition and OSHA policies andprocedures. Students will receive instruction on safe and correctuse of their electrical testing equipment.OSHA 6000 - Collateral Duty for Other Federal AgenciesRichmond: August 25-27 75023 hoursThis course introduces federal agency collateral duty safety andhealth personnel to the OSH Act, Executive Order 12196, 29 CFR1960 and 29 CFR 1910. The training enables participants torecognize basic safety and health hazards in the workplace andeffectively assist agency safety and health officers withinspection and abatement efforts.OSHA 7000 - Training Guidelines for Safe Patient HandlingRichmond: August 12 2507 hoursThe focus of this one-day course is to use OSHA's ErgonomicsGuidelines for Nursing Homes to develop a process to protectworkers in nursing homes.OSHA 7110 - Safe Bolting: Principles and PracticesRichmond: July 13 2507 hoursThe course covers awareness of safety issues involved in boltingapplications. Course topics include; safe operations andhandling of high powered bolting tools, pressure vessels andpiping, machinery or mechanical joints, and structuralconnections. The course provides practical group activities andworkshops. Upon course completion, the student will possessthe knowledge and skills to recognize hazards present in abolting application and methods for control and abatement of thehazard.OSHA 7105 - Evacuation and Emergency PlanningRichmond: December 7 2504 hoursEvacuation and emergency planning focuses on OSHArequirements for emergency action plans and fire protectionplans. Preparing for emergencies is a basic principle of workplacesafety and health. Participants will learn: (1) reasons foremergency action plans and fire prevention plans and when theyare required for a workplace; (2) elements of a good evacuationplan; and (3) features of design and maintenance of good exitroutes. The optional session for this course will focus onassessment of risk for terrorist attack and how to utilize OSHA'stwo matrices, evacuation planning and fire and explosion, astools in planning for emergencies.OSHA 7200Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control for HealthcareRichmond: August 24 2507 hoursThe purpose of this course is to develop a Bloodborne PathogensExposure Plan for healthcare facilities using a step-by-stepapproach. Featured topics include an Introduction to BloodbornePathogens Standard, the Exposure Control Plan, ExposureDetermination, Methods of Control, Vaccinations andEvaluations, Training and Information, and Recordkeeping.OSHA 7400 - Noise in Construction IndustryRichmond: November 9 2505.5 hoursThis course covers the evaluation and reduction of noise inthe construction industry. Course topics include OSHAconstruction noise standards, properties of sound, noiseinduced hearing loss, noise exposure control, selection anduse of hearting protection, conducting sound level surveys,and worker training. Classroom demonstrations of noiseinstrumentation and hearing protection devices are featured.The target audience is the construction employer orrepresentative designated with the responsibility to develop aconstruction noise program. At the conclusion of this course,the student will understand properties of sound and itsrelationship to noise-induced hearing loss, hearing protectionusage, conducting sound level surveys and training workers.OSHA 7405 - Fall Hazard Awareness for theConstruction IndustryRichmond: August 14 2505 hoursThis course offers the identification, evaluation, preventionand control of fall hazards in the construction industry. Thecourse focuses on falls to a lower level rather than falls to thesame level resulting from slips and falls.OSHA 7845 - Recordkeeping Rule SeminarRichmond: August 24Louisville: November 16 2504 hoursThis course is designed to assist employers in identifying andfulfilling their responsibilities for posting certain records,maintaining records of illnesses and injuries and reportingspecific cases to OSHA.OSHA 7115 - Lockout/TagoutRichmond: August 11 2507.5 hoursStudents will lean about the role and responsibility of theemployer to develop and implement an energy controlprogram, or lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) for the protection ofworkers while performing servicing and maintenanceactivities on machines and equipment.
