Meanwhile, we will seekto work with customers to co-create value by proposingnew solutions and services that meet their needs. In addition, we are constantly working to stabilize thesupply of parts to meet the delivery dates requested bycustomers, while endeavoring to visualize and optimizeeach work process with the aim of providing services of aneven higher quality. The fourth component is "enhancing the Hitachi High-TechGroup's leading-edge capabilities."We will work with other Hitachi Group and HitachiHigh-Tech Group companies to strengthen our products, such as through participation in concurrent engineering. We will also train professionals and multi-disciplineengineers so they can be posted overseas, and work toincrease the value that we provide to our customers. We appreciate your support and ask for your continuedpatronage in the future.I am pleased to take this opportunity to present anoverview of our performance in fiscal 2020 (April 1, 2020to March 31, 2021), and to express my appreciation foryour continued patronage and support.During fiscal 2020, the Japanese economy plummeteddue to the sudden drop in commercial activities and adecline in production following the state of emergencythat was declared in April 2020 to mitigate the spread ofCOVID-19.After the economy bottomed out in May 2020, therecovery has been sluggish, and companies have beencautious in making new capital investments due to dropsin revenue, low rates of operation, and anxiety aboutfuture prospects.Furthermore, in January 2021, another state ofemergency was declared due to the reemergence ofCOVID-19, which led to businesses suffering once again. However, exports began to increase as overseaseconomies recovered, which also helped to propel therecovery of the Japanese economy. As part of our efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19and to adapt to the new normal in this economicenvironment, we have worked to reform the way we work, such as by allowing servicing engineers to go directly totheir worksite and then back home after carrying outservicing activities, as well as by providing the environmentneeded for telecommuting. In addition, we have been working to promote contactlessservices and expand our online content amidst variousrestrictions on business activities. As a result, revenue stood at 57.32 billion yen (a 5.2%increase year on year), ordinary income taxes at 4.015billion yen (a 1.1% increase), and net income at 2.695billion yen (a 2.7% decrease). In light of the current challenges facing Japan and othercountries, the spread of COVID-19 has further increasedthe demand for remote monitoring services and remotesupport for equipment, and our competitors have begunadapting to this new normal.Even in this environment, we will forge ahead to practicemanagement driven by customer satisfaction byco-creating value with our clients under the policy outlinedbelow. The first component of this policy is "strengthening thefoundation that supports the service business."To continue enjoying the trust of society, we strive toalways comply with all laws and regulations and upholdour corporate ethics under the principle of "Basics andEthics."*PS accidents: Accidents related to product safety, such as personalinjury, smoke, fire, and leakage.June 2021 President Hitachi High-Tech Fielding Corporation3

Fiscal 2020 Business ConditionsNanotechnology Servicing & SupportIn the processing equipment servicing segment, remodeling andreuse increased due to capital investments by customers ofautomotive devices and power devices. Sales of 200-mm etchsystems for the domestic market, which were launched in fiscal2020, also increased. In addition, sales of pedestals for memorycustomers were strong. In the process control systems servicing segment, sales ofmodifications for material manufacturers and environmentalmeasures for memory customers decreased, but sales ofcomponents for overseas customers were strong. In the electron microscope servicing segment, due to the spreadof COVID-19, visitation restrictions to customer facilities and thepostponement of capital investments by customers have led to adecrease in sales for solution services related to installations andenvironmental measures.Conductor Etch System9000 SeriesCD-SEM-AdvancedCD Measurement SEMCG6300Ultra-High-ResolutionSchottky ScanningElectron MicroscopeSU7000Fiscal 2020 Business ConditionsAnalytical Servicing & SupportThe analytical instrument segment was affected by the spread ofCOVID-19 in the first and second quarters due to visitationrestrictions to customer facilities, which reduced maintenancerevenue. In the third and fourth quarters, sales increased due toproactive efforts to promote contactless solutions via directmessaging. In the medical equipment segment, sales for installations andsolutions were sluggish due to the decreasing profitability ofJapanese medical institutions, but preventive maintenanceexpanded in line with the growing need for equipmentinspections in Japan due to the revision of the Medical Care Act,and sales of parts increased with the start of VMI for immunecells for overseas markets.Model LA8080 High SpeedAmino Acid AnalyzerAutomatic AnalyzerLABOSPECT 008αMain Products Serviced / Sold5
