New Mexicoperuinnovation for HumanityAn interactive and collaborative learning experience thatculminates in a three-week, in-country residency.In keeping with Carey’s commitment to an international educational experience, Global MBAstudents consult with business and community leaders both in the U.S. and in developing countries.During their second semester, and prior to the consulting trip, students learn about the culture,history, and political and economic challenges of the region they will visit so they are prepared toadd immediate value when they arrive.In each country, they work with local entrepreneurs to recommend improvements or solveimportant business challenges in infrastructure, public health, or other areas of critical need. Aftercompleting the residency, students make formal presentations of their assessments and businessrecommendations.4 Global MBA

Discovery to MarketThis entrepreneurial course gives Global MBA students theopportunity to participate in transforming a scientific discoveryinto a viable commercial enterprise.Through the Discovery to Market course of the Global MBA program, launched in 2010, teams ofCarey students collaborate with each other and Johns Hopkins University researchers, physicians,engineers, public health experts, and members of the public sector. D2M, as the course is popularlyknown, takes place in year two. During the course, students are assigned projects and conductextensive feasibility studies to determine if, and how, the inventions can belaunched commercially.6 Global MBA
