Message from the Global Relations Office ofTrinity College Dublin, the University of DublinDear Partners and Colleagues,As we move into a new academic year, we reflect uponthe challenges and changes we have faced since thestart of the COVID-19 pandemic. In March 2020, thegovernment of Ireland made the decision to close schoolsand universities in an attempt to halt the spread of thevirus. We were hopeful that these measures would beshort lived but as the weeks turned into months we, alongwith many universities across the world, began to acceptthat a huge adjustment to our way of life and our way ofteaching was inevitable. The 2020/21 academic year saw a hybrid model ofteaching with some students facing a year of onlinelearning while others were able to participate in smallgroup teaching and laboratory classes. This was of coursea challenge for our students and our staff but it was facedwith resilience and resourcefulness. At Trinity, in person teaching will finally resume on 1November in line with the latest government guidanceon navigating safely through the pandemic. On behalf of all here at Trinity, we hope that you and yourfamily, loved ones and colleagues remain safe and ingood health.Key Updates We are delighted to announce that the GPArequirement for incoming exchange students hasnow been changed from 3.3 to 3.1 with immediateeffect.
