Dietary Supplement Products Containing DMAAOPSS maintains a list of currently available commercialproducts that list DMAA on their product label or website(by any of the synonymous names listed below). We havemade reasonable effort to identify as many products aspossible, but the list likely does not include all such products. In 2013, FDA announced that “Dietary supplementscontaining DMAA are illegal ” Subsequently, many products were either discontinued or reformulated, but thereare still both old and new products available that includeDMAA as an ingredient.Many products have disappeared from the market, butsome retailers still have stock of discontinued or reformulated products that contain DMAA. Many non-DMAAversions now exist that have the same or a similar productname. So it is important to read ingredient labels carefullybefore using any product, especially those promoted forpre-workout and weight loss. The only way to determine positivelyif a product does or does not contain DMAA is throughlaboratory testing, so OPSS recommends using onlydietary supplements that have evidence of third-partytesting by a reputable independent laboratory.In order to check labels, you need to know the numerousterms and synonyms for DMAA.
