As a final step to ensure that your concerns are being fairly considered, MazdaNorth American Operations has agreed to participate in a dispute settlement programadministered by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) system, at no cost to you the consumer.BBB AUTO LINE works with consumers and the manufacturer in an attempt to reach amutually acceptable resolution of any warranty related concerns. If the BBB is not able tofacilitate a settlement they will provide an informal hearing before an arbitrator.You are required to resort to BBB AUTO LINE before exercising rights or seeking remediesunder the Federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, 15 U.S.C. § 2301 et seq. To the extentpermitted by the applicable state “Lemon Law”, you are also required to resort to BBBAUTO LINE before exercising any rights or seeking remedies under the “Lemon Law”. In order to file a claim with BBB AUTO LINE, you will have to provide your name andaddress, the brand name and vehicle identification number (VIN) of your vehicle, and astatement of the nature of your problem or complaint. You will also be asked to provide:the approximate date of your acquisition of the vehicle, the vehicle’s current mileage, theapproximate date and mileage at the time any problem(s) were first brought to the attentionof MAZDA or one of our dealers, and a statement of the relief you are seeking.5. BBB AUTO LINE staff may try to help resolve your dispute through mediation. If mediationis not successful, or if you do not wish to participate in mediation, claims within theprogram’s jurisdiction may be presented to an arbitrator at an informal hearing. Thearbitrator’s decision should ordinarily be issued within 40 days from the time your complaintis filed; there may be a delay of 7 days if you did not first contact MAZDA about yourproblem, or a delay of up to 30 days if the arbitrator requests an inspection/report by animpartial technical expert or further investigation and report by BBB AUTO LINE.6. NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY1. What Is CoveredThe New Vehicle Limited Warranty period is 36 months or 36,000 miles whichever comes first.This Limited Warranty period begins on the Date of First Service. “Date of First Service” meansthe first date the Mazda Vehicle is delivered to the first retail purchaser, is leased or is placed intoservice as a company vehicle use (e.g., as a demonstrator, rental or fleet vehicle), whichever isearliest. This Limited Warranty does not mean that each Mazda vehicle is defect free. For thisreason, Mazda provides this Limited Warranty in order to remedy during the warranty period anysuch defects in materials and workmanship of all parts and components supplied by Mazda subjectto the exclusions indicated under “Exceptions” and “What is Not Covered”. The vehicle must bebrought to an authorized Mazda dealer for all warranty service. The authorized Mazda dealer willwithout charge for parts or labor, either repair or replace the defective part(s) using new orauthorized remanufactured parts. This transferable Limited Warranty is included with all newMazda vehicles sold in the United States. Mail the “Subsequent Ownership Notification” attachedto the end of the booklet to your Mazda Importer/Distributor.Original Equipment BatteryThe originally equipped battery is fully covered for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever comesfirst. The warranty period begins on the Date of First Service. “Date of First Service” means thefirst date the Mazda Vehicle is delivered to the first retail purchaser, is leased or is placed intoservice as a company vehicle use (e.g., as a demonstrator, rental or fleet vehicle), whichever isearliest.ExceptionsThe items specified below are covered for specific periods which are different from the basiccoverage. AdjustmentsService adjustment is covered for the first 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.Service adjustment means minor repairs not usually associated with the replacement of parts,such as wheel balance and alignment, tension adjustment of automatic transmission throttlecable and V-belt, fitting of engine hood, trunk lid, or rear hatch, etc.Note:Adjustments required to conform to an EPA approved emission short test, are subject to theapplicable emission warranty coverage.122017 C627UO16F E

NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY Air Conditioner Refrigerant ChargeAir conditioner refrigerant charge is covered for the first 12 months of the warranty periodregardless of mileage.Over the balance of the warranty period, refrigerant charge is covered only when replenishedas part of a warranty repair.2. TowingIf Mazda vehicle is not drivable due to a warranted part failure during the coverage periodof the New Vehicle Limited Warranty or Powertrain Limited Warranty, towing service will becovered to the nearest Mazda dealer.3. Warranty ApplicationThis warranty is applicable to Mazda Vehicles originally distributed, registered and normallyoperated in the country(ies) of the United States, Canada, Mexico, or the U.S. territories of PuertoRico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Saipan, or American Samoa. The warranty that originally camewith this vehicle will be in effect and will not change if the car is legally imported andsubsequently registered into a different country or territory identified above.Although the warranty that came with this vehicle will be honored to the extent possible in thevarious countries/territories identified above, there may be limitations on the ability of the localMazda dealership to repair vehicles that have moved across the various borders identifiedabove.During the warranty period, this warranty is transferable to subsequent owners. What Is Not CoveredFactors Beyond the Manufacturer’s Control Misuse of the Mazda Vehicle such as driving over curbs, overloading, racing, snowplowing,etc.(Proper usage is described in your Owner’s Manual.) Accidents such as collision, fire, flood, theft, riot etc. Alteration, modification, tampering etc. If the vehicle has been classified a total loss and/or sold for salvage purposes or branded for anyother reasons. Damage or surface corrosion from the environment such as:Acid rain, airborne fallout (chemicals, tree sap, etc), salt, road hazards, hail, wind storm,lightning, floods and other natural disasters. Cosmetic conditions or surface corrosion from stone chips or scratches in the paint. Registration of the vehicle out of the U.S., Canadian, or Mexican Markets as identified in the“Warranty Application” for New Vehicle Limited Warranty section of this booklet.Damage due to Lack of Maintenance or the Use of Wrong Fuel, Oil or Lubricants Lack of proper maintenance as described in your Owner’s Manual.(Failure to properly maintain your vehicle can result in your warranty being voided eitherin whole or in part.) Improper maintenance, the use of other than specified fuel, oil or lubricants recommended inyour Owner’s Manual.Normal Deterioration Normal wear, tear or deterioration such as discoloration, fading, deformation, blur etc. Surface corrosion on any part other than the body sheet metal panels forming the exteriorappearance of a Mazda Vehicle.142017 C627UO16F E

What Is Not Covered (Cont’d)Maintenance is at Owner’s Expense Normal maintenance services such as cleaning and polishing, lubrication, andreplenishment or replacement of oil, fluid, coolant, worn wiper blades, filters, wornbrake and clutch linings, spark plugs, fuses, keyless transmitter batteries etc. Maintenance services described as “Scheduled Maintenance Services”, “OwnerMaintenance Services” or “Appearance Care” in your Owner’s Manual.Altered Mileage Any repair of a Mazda Vehicle on which the odometer has been altered or on which theactual mileage cannot be readily determined.(When replacing the speedometer, the “Speedometer Replacement Record” on page 6 mustbe filled in by a Mazda Dealer.)Extra Expenses and Damages Any financial loss, for example: due to loss of use of the Mazda Vehicle, lodging,transportation, travel costs, loss of pay and any other expenses or damages.Tires Tires are warranted by the tire manufacturers. Your ResponsibilitiesMaintenanceYou are responsible for properly operating and maintaining your Mazda Vehicle inaccordance with the instructions described in your Owner’s Manual. If your vehicle is usedunder severe driving conditions, you should follow Schedule 2 of the maintenancerequirements described in your Owner’s Manual.Maintenance Records - Proof of MaintenanceTo continue warranty eligibility and to protect your investment, it is your responsibility toproperly maintain your vehicle according to factory recommended schedules outlined in yourOwner’s Manual. As part of this you must keep your maintenance records, receipts,repair orders and any other documents as evidence this maintenance was performed. You mustpresent these documents, should any warranty coverage disagreement occur. Failure to do socan result in your warranty being voided either in whole or in part.This evidence may consist of the following: The Mazda Scheduled Maintenance Record, on page 44, must be completely filled outshowing mileage, repair order number, date for each service, and signed by a qualifiedautomotive service technician who service vehicles. Original copies of repair orders or other receipts that include the mileage and date thevehicle was serviced. Each receipt should be signed by a qualified automotive servicetechnician. For self maintenance, a statement that you completed the maintenance yourself,displaying mileage and the date the work was performed. Also, receipts for thereplacement parts (fluid, filters, etc.) indicating the date and mileage must accompany thisstatement.Note:If you elect to perform maintenance yourself or have your vehicle serviced at a location otherthan an Authorized Mazda Dealer, Mazda requires that all fluids, parts and materials must meetMazda standards for durability and performance as described in your Owner’s Manual.6. To Get Warranty ServiceYou must take your Mazda Vehicle, along with this booklet, to a Mazda Dealer in the UnitedStates, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Saipan, American Samoa, Canada orMexico during its normal service hours. While any Mazda Dealer will perform warrantyservice, Mazda recommends that you return to the dealership where you purchased yourMazda Vehicle because you have already established a relationship with them.If you have any question or need assistance regarding this warranty, refer to “When YouNeed to Talk to Mazda” on page 7.162017 C627UO16F E

NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY7. Limited LiabilityThe liability of Mazda under this warranty is limited solely to the repair or replacement ofparts defective in Mazda-supplied material, or workmanship by a Mazda Dealer at itsplace of business. Specifically, it does not include any expense of, or payment for loss of useof the Mazda Vehicle during warranty repairs.8. Other TermsThis warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which varyfrom state to state.All Implied Warranties, including but not limited to any regarding marketability or fitnessfor a particular purpose, are limited respectively to the duration of this warranty.This warranty is given in lieu of all other Express Warranties (except those set forthseparately in this booklet) on the part of Mazda, Mazda Importer/Distributor, or the MazdaDealer selling the Mazda Vehicle. No dealer, or any agent or employee thereof, is authorized toextend or expand this warranty. Mazda or a Mazda Importer/Distributor shall not be liablefor any incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or any service notexpressly provided for herein.Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion orlimitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions maynot apply to you.172017 C627UO16F E

POWERTRAIN LIMITED WARRANTY1. What Is CoveredThe Powertrain Limited Warranty period is 60 months or 60,000 miles whichever comes first. ThisLimited Warranty period begins on the Date of First Service. “Date of First Service” means thefirst date the Mazda Vehicle is delivered to the first retail purchaser, is leased or is placed intoservice as a company vehicle use (e.g., as a demonstrator, rental or fleet vehicle), whichever isearliest. This Limited Warranty does not mean that each Mazda vehicle is defect free. For thisreason, Mazda provides this Limited Warranty in order to remedy during the warranty period anysuch defects in materials and workmanship of the Powertrain components supplied by Mazdasubject to the exclusions indicated under “What is Not Covered”. The vehicle must be brought toan authorized Mazda dealer for all warranty service. The authorized Mazda dealer will withoutcharge for parts or labor, either repair or replace the defective part(s) using new or authorizedremanufactured parts. This transferable Limited Warranty is included with all new Mazda vehiclessold in the United States.
