SECTION 1 – ABOUT THIS MANUALThis manual is a supplement specific to ROUSH Supercharged vehicles built prior to initial sale; it doesnot apply to aftermarket supercharger installations. For non-powertrain content, please refer to the baseROUSH Vehicle manual included separately. While specific content may vary based on build options, your ROUSH Supercharged vehicle contains the following major powertrain content:ROUSHcharger The TVS 2650 takes superchargers to the next level. Improved air flow, isentropic efficiency and lowerdischarge temps all help with tremendous power potential of this head unit.ROUSH Intake ManifoldCustom made for the 5.0L DIPI Ti-VCT engine, this cast aluminum intake packages all the requirementsfor anintegrated charge air cooler and manifold in one.ROUSH Intercooler SystemThe standalone water to air intercooler system helps with maintaining consistent air chargetemperatures and delivering peak performance on demand.3

ROUSH Fuel System UpgradesThe ROUSH kit utilizes higher-flow injectors that meet performance demands and retain everydaydriveability.ROUSH Engine / Transmission CalibrationThe Powertrain Control Module (PCM) includes unique algorithms and calibrations developed specificallyfor the ROUSHcharged engine packages. Countless hours of engine dynamometer testing, durabilitytesting, cold & hot weather trips and varying altitude trips go into the end product you drive.4

SECTION 2 - ROUSHcharged ENGINE MAINTENANCE INFORMATIONBefore any repairs are made to your vehicle for any engine concern, please have your dealer contactROUSH Performance Customer Service between the hours of 8 AM to 5 PM Eastern Time, Mondaythrough Friday, at 800.59.ROUSH (800.597.6874) for diagnostic and repair assistance.Your ROUSHcharged vehicle has been uniquely calibrated by ROUSH for proper operation of thePowertrain system. This calibration program may be accidentally erased if improperly accessed by anyservice tool having Powertrain Control Module (PCM) flash capabilities. Instruct your service technicianto contact ROUSH before performing service to the Powertrain control system.Engine FuelAs your ROUSHcharged equipped vehicle is a high-performance vehicle, it requires the use of premiumunleaded fuel of at least 91 octane (R M)/2. Do not use any type of octane booster or other fueladditives as it may cause damage to the spark plugs, catalysts, and other emission control devices. Forfull performance, use of 93 octane (R M)/2 is required.Fuel FilterYour vehicle is equipped with a lifetime fuel filter that is integrated with the fuel tank. Regularmaintenance or replacement is not needed.5

Engine Oil and FilterChange your oil every 6 months or 5,000 miles, whichever occurs first, using Castrol SAE 5W-50 SN PLUSor SP, Full Synthetic Motor Oil. This should be done more frequently if high operating temperatures areencountered, or the vehicle is run hard for extended periods such as on a racetrack. The oil filter should bereplaced every time you change your oil.Spark Plug InformationIf equipped with a ROUSHcharger , your ROUSH Vehicle will have ROUSH spark plugs with a presetgap. If your plugs need to be changed, contact ROUSH Customer Service at 800.59.ROUSH for thecorrect part number. The use of non-ROUSH approved spark plugs may damage the engine and mayvoid your warranty.6

Cooling SystemsYour ROUSH Vehicle has two separate cooling systems – one for the engine and one for the intercoolersystem. Both use a 50/50 mix of Motorcraft Specialty Orange Engine Coolant and distilled water. Thiscoolant mix provides both proper lubrication for the pumps in the system and anti-freeze/anti-boilprotection. Consult the Ford Owner’s Guide for recommended fluid replacement intervals.Engine Coolant Fill ProcedureFill the overflow bottle to the full line with coolant. Operate the engine until it reaches normal operatingtemperature. Check the overflow bottle and add coolant as necessary. Re-check the overflow bottle afterthe engine has cooled and, if necessary, add coolant to bring the level up to the full line. Repeat steps1 through 3 until no drop in coolant level is noted.Intercooler Coolant Fill ProcedureYour ROUSH Vehicle is equipped with a single-core, air-to-water intercooler system with an electric waterpump. This provides a cooler air charge to the cylinders, allowing your engine to develop more power. Addcoolant until it is one inch from the top of the intercooler reservoir bottle. Start the vehicle to turn on theintercooler pump and purge any trapped air in the system. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until the reservoir stays atthe full mark.7

Coolant Fan Control - ROUSH Mustang ONLYThe intercooler on your ROUSHcharged Mustang is cooled using the same electric cooling fan used forengine cooling and air conditioning, along with the normal airflow across the cooler while driving.During normal operation, this is sufficient to keep the intercooler water cool and provide maximumperformance when desired. However, in maximum performance conditions, especially when vehicle is atlow speed, additional intercooler system cooling may be desired. This can be achieved in the followingways: Activate Sport, Drag or Track mode with the engine running. In these modes, fan will activate moreaggressively based on intercooler water temperature. Drag and Track mode will run the fan veryaggressively at low speeds in order to prepare for the next run; this is normal. Manually select fan override. With the vehicle stopped, engine running and the brake applied, holdthe cruise /SET button for three seconds. Fan will activate at high speed for three minutes. Once fanis activated, you can shut off the engine; fan and intercooler water pump will continue to operateand shut off automatically at the end of three minutes.8

Powertrain Control Module (PCM)The calibration values contained in the Powertrain Control Module are the exclusive property of ROUSH ,and contains highly proprietary, confidential, and trade secret information of ROUSH . User may not copy, reverse engineer, create derivate works, transfer, loan, sell, lease, download, upload or disclose thecalibration data contained in your ROUSH Vehicle to others in any manner whatsoever. Any routine orsystematic re-distribution of any portion of ROUSH’s calibration data is expressly prohibited.TransmissionYour ROUSH Vehicle was calibrated using factory transmission components, therefore no modificationsare recommended. Refer to the Ford owner’s manual for the recommended fluid replacement intervals.Traction ControlYour ROUSH Vehicle is equipped with traction control, which can only be disabled by the operator afterthe vehicle is running. It is primarily intended for slippery road conditions. Due to the high accelerationcapability of the ROUSHcharged equipped vehicles, the traction control feature could engage whileaccelerating at wide-open throttle.9

SECTION 3 - DID YOU KNOW: 13Modifying your vehicle may void your Limited Powertrain Warranty. Please consult ROUSH warranty prior to making any modifications.Altering wheel and/or tire size beyond factory allowable specifications is not recommended. Doingso may cause your vehicle to experience a lack of performance and/or check engine light(s).Ensuring the correct tire size (rev/mile) has been accounted for inside the PCM/BCM is critical tonormal vehicle function. This information must be updated using proper service tools by a certifiedinstaller/dealer prior to driving any vehicle with an altered wheel and/or tire combination.Aftermarket clutches and/or flywheels are not recommended with ROUSH calibrations. Choosingto do so may require a custom, non-ROUSH calibration at your expense and it will void yourLimited Powertrain Warranty.Regular Ford service intervals and fluids are recommended after installation of the Supercharger.Make sure you use the correct engine oil for your application. 2018 Supercharged 5.0L Mustangsand F-150s REQUIRE 5W-50 SN PLUS or SP full synthetic engine oil. ROUSH Performancerecommends using Castrol Edge 5W-50 SN PLUS or SP full synthetic engine oil.

Tire ReplacementIf you replace your vehicle’s tires, make sure the size (aspect ratio) and load rating match the tiressupplied with your vehicle because speedometer, odometer, and ABS brake operation are based on thesefactors. The useof tires larger than originally supplied may interfere with operation of these componentsand possibly cause vehicle damage. The proper size of tire is critical to vehicle performance, as off-sizetires may cause a lack of performance and/or malfunction indicator light. Smaller tires may not properlyseat on the wheels, causing a dangerous operating condition. We recommend purchasing replacementtires identical to those on your new vehicle. See your dealer or contact us at 800.59.ROUSH (800-5976874).14
