2nd Annual New York Neurotrauma Consortium (NYNC) Virtual SymposiumInterprofessional Continuing Education ConferenceFriday, February 11, 2022 8am - 1pm (EST) Virtual CE Conference via ZoomStatement of Need: Recently published guidelines on themanagement of severe pediatric TBI are not widely knownand this program will highlight some of the changes inmanagement that have occurred since the last publicationapproximately 8 years ago. Although many practitionerstake neurotrauma call, fewer have chosen to specializein the complete care of traumatic brain and spinal cordinjury and may be unfamiliar with the nuances of theircomplex management, such as ICP care and the newalgorithm that has been published. Case-based examplesof management will be designed to discuss and educateon the myriad treatment options available. There is aneed to increase awareness of options to treat disordersof consciousness in the acute and subacute care ofTBI. Practitioners may not exhibit sufficient comfort orknowledge as to which eurostimulants are appropriate forwhich stages of TBI recovery. Such discussion can helpattendees determine which patients would benefitfrom neurostimulation, leading to change in practicefor the goal of improving recovery.Program Objectives: All Northwell Health CME activitiesare intended to improve patient care, safety Assesstreatment paradigms for children with severe traumaticbrain injury and outcomes.
