FACULTY SPEAKERMOUNIRA MORRISDr. Mounira Morris is an assistant teaching professor and the co-lead for the M.Ed. in HigherEducation Administration (HEA) program. Dr. Morris has held leadership roles in diversity,equity and inclusion (DEI), student affairs, and academic advancement across multiple highereducation institutions, including Clark University, Allegheny College, and Earlham College.In these roles, she developed summer bridge and social support programs for first-generationstudents and students of color, organized dialogues for faculty, staff, and students on socialjustice, and served on multiple committees to address diversity, equity, and inclusionthroughout all aspects of the student experience. As a result, she brings deep professionalexperience in DEI, social justice, and student development to her research, teaching, andprofessional practice. A scholar-practitioner, Dr. Morris recently co-authored the article,“Competencies wanted: An analysis of enrollment management job advertisements” focusingon the core competencies required among entry- and mid-level enrollment managementpositions. In addition to her lead faculty role in the M.Ed. in HEA curriculum, she has servedas a dissertation chair in the Doctor of Education program for five years.Dr. Morris obtained her B.S. in Business Administration and M.S. in College StudentDevelopment and Counseling from Northeastern University. She received her Doctor ofEducation from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. As someone who values serviceto the profession and community, Dr. Morris is an active member of NASPA-Student AffairsAdministrators in Higher Education and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.
