ACADEMIC – STUDY ABROAD OFFICEOur Lille campus, based in northern France is home to our Business Management track and our Nice campus, based inthe south of France is home to our Finance track. All courses in Nice are taught in English. Due to possible timetableoverlaps, it is not possible to combine courses from different levels or programmes. Students must select their coursesin one programme either in Nice or Lille. French course should be considered.
PRACTICAL – INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS OFFICEACCOMMODATIONOnce accepted in the EDHEC exchange programme, the International Students Office will contact you personally to inform you about availableaccommodation options for both Lille and Nice campuses.These options are on a first come, first serve basis so it is best to reserve early asstudent housing is on high demand.LILLE CAMPUSNICE CAMPUSExceptional site of 21 acres, Lille campus is located in theheart of the Greater Lille metropolis, few minutes away fromLille’s 2 train stations, the campus has been designated tomeet the highest international standard.EDHEC Business School’s Nice Campus is located in an elegant andmodern complex overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in the vicinityof the Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport. Inaugurated in 2013,the upgraded campus offers an excellent environment for learningand research, with completely renewed lecture theatres,conference rooms, classrooms Accommodation: on-campusAn on-campus accommodation is available in the EDHECresidence. 2 options are: kots and private studios. We suggestother off-campus options when offers are made available tous.Accommodation: off-campusOnly off-campus accommodation is available.VISA & RESIDENT PERMITPrior to your departure, please check on the French Ministryof Foreign Affairs whether you are required to apply for avisa or not. If you do not have a European passport, you musthave a visa to study in France (even if you have a residencepermit from a European country).Exchange students are requested to provide the InternationalStudents Office with all official mandatory documents on theday of the Welcome Session (Please refer to your e-mails).Students who do not provide these documents cannot beaccepted.HEALTH/MEDICAL SERVICESTHAT HEALTH INSURANCE IS MANDATORY TO BE ABLE TO STUDY IN FRANCEEU studentsNon-EU students A European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) valid for thewhole duration of your stay is required. If you do not have an EHIC, you must purchase a privateinsurance covering you for the whole duration of yourstay.If you are staying at EDHEC for one semester, you shouldpurchase a private insurance covering you for the wholeduration of your stay. If you are staying at EDHEC for two semesters, youshould apply to the French social security.The International Students Office will provide you with more details upon your arrival to France.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSWHAT KIND OF ORIENTATION, IF ANY,DO YOU PROVIDE?The International Students Office offers an Orientation sessionwhich includes social activities and informational meetings.(Residence permit, medical coverage/care in France, academicinformation, etc.).IS THE PLANNING DEFINITE?The planning is flexible and could be subject to modifications, so weadvise you to check the schedule on daily basis. Please note thatthere is no online courses, so you are expected to stay until the lastday of the semester.WHAT IS THE GRADING SYSTEM USED?WHAT TEACHING METHODS ARE USED?Tutorials, lectures, workshops, seminars. Please consult the coursessyllabus.Scale from 0 to 20, 10 is a passing grade you obtain credits. Below10 it is a fail no credits awardedDO YOU OFFER MAKE-UP EXAMS?WHAT IS THE REGULAR WORKLOAD?30 ECTS is the regular (and maximum) workload per semester forEDHEC students, the minimum workload is 20 ECTS. We have norules for visiting students concerning the number of courses orcredits that must be taken. The home university decides what therequirements are for their students (unless it is a Double Degreeseeking student in which case they take all courses in their studyprogramme, like regular EDHEC students). However, we stronglyrecommend a for Simple Exchange students workload of 30 ECTS.Yes, make-up exams are offered. Schedules will be given to thestudents during the exchange. Make-up exams cannot be takenoutside of the EDHEC Lille or Nice Campus. No make-up exams willbe organized for French classes.WHEN DO STUDENTS RECEIVETHEIR TRANSCRIPTS?Students have access to their grades and official transcripts via theirweb Aurion account. Official transcripts are sent to home universityby email upon request. For Fall semester: in February. For Springsemester: in June/JulyWHAT ARE THE FACILITIES/SERVICESAVAILABLE TO STUDENTS? Computers and wireless internet access on-campus Library Photocopy machines and printers On-campus cafeteria in Nice;3 on-campus restauration options in Lille Sports facilitiesEach exchange student is given an email account upon arrival.CAN I CHANGE MY COURSE CHOICEAFTER THE BEGINNING OF CLASSES?Once the Learning Agreement is approved by your home institutionand signed, the modification of your course choice is not allowed.We strongly advise students to review carefully the syllabus of eachcourse before choosing it, and to consult your coordinator beforemaking a definite choice.DO EXCHANGE STUDENTS HAVE ACCESSTO OUR CAREER CENTER ?Exchange students will have the opportunity to participate in severalcorporate events (eg. job & company presentations) but do not haveaccess to the EDHEC database. Please note that EDHEC cannot signany placement contract for Simple exchange students and Frenchcompanies. Students must make arrangements with their homeuniversity. Visa procedure during the internship period should bechecked with the French Embassy in the home country.IS CLASS ATTENDANCE MANDATORY?Yes, class attendance is mandatory for exchange students,absences, early leaves are not allowed during the exchange period,and sick leaves should be justified by a medical report.In certain cases, students may be refused permission to sit their finalexams.Attendance in classes is vital as it is not only the best interest of thestudent to attend classes regularly, but it also guarantees thatgroups function properly.
