This is a greater problem in theaesthetic areas. This hands-on session will take you throughthe different options with regards to immediate implantplacement as well as the most cutting-edge socket shieldtechnique in a step-by-step fashion.Maxillary sinus elevation has become anindispensable part of implant surgery andprocedures have evolved during the last 25 years to a pointwhere sinus grafting surgery is considered one of the mostpredictable augmentation methods performed today. Thesurvival rate of implants placed in these grafts is proving tobe as successful as implants placed in non-grafted posteriormaxilla. Sinus elevation surgical procedures are still evolvingand the Simplified Antrostomy Design (S.A.D.), or low windowtechnique, is marking the evolution of surgical techniques. These new techniques decrease intra-op complications likeperforations, speed up all the procedures and make sinusmembrane elevation easier.TUODLSOUpon completion of this presentation, participants should beable to: 1) utilize step-by-step procedures for the socket shieldtechnique; 2) discuss prosthetic design relating to socket shield;and 3) explain utilizing the rotated palatal flap for the coverage ofthe root submergence technique and the pontic shield.During the workshop, anatomic models will be utilized to giveparticipants a hands-on introduction to the lateral approach.Didactic models have been manufactured starting from realpatient DICOM images combining in the same model twodifferent clinical scenarios: an easy sinus, and a difficult one.A planning session with dedicated software of the scannedmodels will allow the participants to evaluate the difficultyof the case utilizing “The Maxillary Sinus Elevation DifficultyScore (MSEDscore)” and “Maxillary Sinus Elevation DifficultyScore: (MSEDscore) with Lateral Wall Technique.”10:00 – 10:30 amRefreshment BreakThe workshop will include only the Piezosurgical approach, the traditional technique with rotary instruments will be onlyshown on videos.Upon completion of this presentation, participants should be ableto: 1) explain how knowledge of surgical anatomy can preventcomplications and achieve optimal results; 2) discuss the rationalefor correct pre-operative planning and utilize “The Maxillary SinusElevation Difficulty Score” (MSEDscore); and 3) conduct step-bystep surgical techniques for the lateral approach.3:00 – 3:30 pmRefreshment Break8

Temporary restorations will bemade both free-hand and with pre-formed gingival formerdevices to capture the shape of the peri-implant tissues. Astep-by-step technique will be shown in the fabrication ofthese restorations as well as the importance of doing so inpreservation of tissues post-extraction.Digital workflow can enhance the treatmentof complex cases in which the anatomicdeficiencies must be addressed, as well as the demands ofa minimally invasive approach and high esthetic outcome.Advanced optical scanning technology, blended withthe CBCT assessment conducted with the “Smiling ScanTechnique” provide the team with a comprehensive virtualscenario that will drive decision-making toward a personalizedtreatment plan. New surgical and prosthetic protocolsbased on the dynamic navigation technology will be widelydescribed to allow the attendees to deliver a precise positionof the implants as well as of the complete arch x-guidedprosthesis. The new digital assisted soft sculpturing (DASS)technique to sculpture the bone and soft tissue and theuse of xenogeneic collagen matrix to achieve a scallopedinterface for highly esthetic pink free restoration will bepresented on real patient models. The interplay betweenIOS scanning, navigation systems and modern biomaterialsfor soft-tissue healing enhancement and developmentdrives the participants to the next level in terms of accuracy, predictability and low morbidity.Upon completion of this presentation, participants should beable to: 1) discuss the importance of immediate temporization;2) describe how to make a custom healing abutment; and3) explain how to make a full provisional restoration.Upon completion of this presentation, participants should be ableto: 1) analyze the benefits and disadvantages of using digitallyguided surgery and prosthetic techniques; 2) explain the differentclinical indications of CAD/CAM template guided implant surgeryand x-guide navigation implant surgery; 3) determine whenimmediate loading is feasible; and 4) describe the soft-tissueinterface for pink-free full-arch restorations.10:00 – 10:30 amRefreshment Break3:00 – 3:30 pmRefreshment Break9
