2017 ANNUAL REPORTHeartland United WayCelebrating70 years ofimproving livesand creatingpossibilities!

In 1947, the Grand Island Community Chest launched its first campaign with agoal of 36,000. With generous support from local businesses and community members, the goal was surpassed to support five organizations.70 years later the Heartland United Way has experienced four name changes, expanded toserve Hall, Howard, Hamilton and Merrick counties, surpassed raising over 2,000,000 forthe first time this year, and are now supporting 21 local charities.Moving forward we face more challenges and look for new ways to make “The Good Life”possible for every person in every community. We know there is work to be done. Our boldgoal is to decrease childhood poverty so all children willbe successful in school and life. We want people to befinancially stable and have access to quality health care. What started with the Community Chest, and tenconcerned citizens, on September 20, 1947 continuestoday as we continually strive to improve lives andcreate possibilities. We thank you for your loyalsupport and encourage everyone to get involved.Visit our website, Facebook page or stop by ouroffice to learn more.ber t a n dDale Gilna sm u s s eDe n s e l RMe t aKaren RathkeTodd PriceLIVE UNITEDwww.heartlandunitedway.orgAr ms t ro ng
