It is hopedthat those who come to Chemeketatoday will do just the same.1The meaning of Chemeketa isillustrated on the sculptured wallpanels (pictured here), which appearon Building 3 on our Salem Campus.Designed by graphic artist ArvidOrbeck, the panels symbolize theterritorial divisions of the tribes andthe movement of the tribes toward theestablished meeting place. As the tribes move through theterritorial divisions, the carved designsbecome less aggressive and less linear.Softercurves startto enter intothe forms, showingmorepeaceful attitudes.
