ASR Ordering GuideEthernet ServicesE-Access & E-LineOverviewThis guide provides detailed information about Windstream’s Ethernet services andinstructions for navigating the Ethernet ASR.Windstream leverages its MPLS and Ethernet infrastructure to provide Ethernet EAccess and E-Line services, with customers benefitting from the extensive, uniqueEthernet footprint, as well as advanced service delivery capabilities. Ethernet Service attributes are based on the Metro Ethernet Forum TechnicalSpecification – MEF 2.0MEF defines the E-Line/E-Access EPL (Ethernet Private Line) service type as aport-based service that includes all-to-one bundling. E-Line/E-Access EVPL(Ethernet Virtual Private Line) is a VLAN-based solution that supports servicemultiplexing at the UNI.

Service TypesE-Line EPL – A port-based service with a high degree of transparency (figure 1). As atransparent service, there is no need to coordinate a detailed CE-VLAN ID to EVCmapping. All service frames at the UNI will be mapped to a single EVC.figure 1E-Line EVPL – A VLAN-based service that allows multiple service instances to beconfigured at the UNI interface (figure 2). This service will require an EVC endpoint mapfor each EVC to specify how service frames are mapped at the UNI.figure 2About Windstream WholesaleWindstream Wholesale collaborateswith businesses across the U.S. todrive digital transformation bydelivering solutions that solvetoday’s most complex networkingand communication challenges.Learn more about WindstreamWholesale by visiting us online at:Windstreamenterprise.com/wholesale1000 08.18 2018 Windstream Services, LLC. E-Access EPL – A port-based service with a high degree of transparency (figure 3). Asa transparent service, there is no need to coordinate a detailed CE-VLAN ID to OVCmapping. All service frames at the UNI will be mapped to a single OVC; however, the SVLAN ID at the ENNI is preserved and will need to be coordinated.figure 3E-Access EVPL – A VLAN based service that allows multiple service instances to beconfigured at the UNI interface (figure 4). This service will require an OVC endpoint mapfor each OVC to specify how service frames are mapped at the UNI. In addition, theS-VLAN ID value will need to be coordinated between Windstream and the wholesalecustomer.figure 4About Windstream WholesaleWindstream Wholesale collaborateswith businesses across the U.S. todrive digital transformation bydelivering solutions that solvetoday’s most complex networkingand communication challenges.Learn more about WindstreamWholesale by visiting us online at:Windstreamenterprise.com/wholesale1000 08.18 2018 Windstream Services, LLC. Pricing is subject to ICB rates All ENNI extensions are protectedExpedites are supported for Carrier Ethernet E-Access and E-Line services and can berequested through the EXP field on the Access Service Request (in the Administrativesection). The expedite request can take up to fourteen (14) calendar days from thestandard interval and the expedite charge of 1,000.00 will be billed regardless ofwhether Windstream can meet the date requested.About Windstream WholesaleWindstream Wholesale collaborateswith businesses across the U.S. todrive digital transformation bydelivering solutions that solvetoday’s most complex networkingand communication challenges.Learn more about WindstreamWholesale by visiting us online at:Windstreamenterprise.com/wholesale1000 08.18 2018 Windstream Services, LLC. ASR RequirementsTo accurately provision and bill for Carrier Ethernet services, Windstream requirescompletion of all ASR fields, based on the most recent Telecordia standards. The following information outlines the proper use of the fields required to process anASR for Windstream’s E-Access, ENNI, UNI, and OVC/EVC services. If additionalresources are needed, customers should contact Telecordia or their assignedWindstream account management team for formal ASR training.Note: E-Access – The ENNI circuit must be ordered prior to any UNI orders. In addition, since an OVC order must reference the appropriate ENNI and UNI, the UNI must beordered prior to the OVC.Note: Carrier cannot change the end-user’s address via a change order. This wouldrequire a new UNI order and a disconnect order for the old UNI.See quick reference table below for the required form by service type:Order TypeASRSwitched Ethernet Service Request (SESR)ENNIXXXE-Access EVPLXXXE-Access EPLXXXE-Line EVPLXXXE-Line EPLXXXOVCXXAbout Windstream WholesaleWindstream Wholesale collaborateswith businesses across the U.S. todrive digital transformation bydelivering solutions that solvetoday’s most complex networkingand communication challenges.SALI EVCLearn more about WindstreamWholesale by visiting us online at:Windstreamenterprise.com/wholesale1000 08.18 2018 Windstream Services, LLC.
