Select a testing center fromthe list of centers to the right of the map.CANCEL/RESCHEDULING POLICYIf you need to change or cancel their testingappointment, you must contact Prov at least three (3)business days prior to your scheduled test date.Rescheduling is free if Prov is notified by the deadline. Ifyou fail to appear for their test or fail to cancel orreschedule your testing session by the close of businessthree days prior to their scheduled test date, you willforfeit your exam fees.PREPARING FOR YOUR EXAMS5. The testquestions used on the examinations have been preparedand reviewed by a panel of qualified individuals andcover the wide range of topics individuals wouldnormally encounter in either (HAC) Heating and AirConditioning or Refrigeration should know as they workin the HVACR field during regular work operations.Prov recommends that you prepare for your exam byfamiliarizing yourself with the subject areas listed in eachexam description. Additionally, familiarize yourself withthe reference materials that are allowed during theexamination. The more time you spend outside of thetesting room studying, the less time you will need tospend in the testing room trying to location information.You are encouraged to prepare your test materials byhighlighting text or placing permanent tabs on importantpages.Candidates should be prepared to provide the Provscheduling staff with their name, Prov Candidate ID andtheir zip code. Theseguidelines are in place to ensure that every candidate istested fairly and that no candidate has access tounapproved resources.Furthermore, the candidate will forfeit the examinationfees paid. Finally, anyone caught with test questions intheir possession, either during or following theexamination will be prosecuted by Prov for theft ofcopyrighted testing materials.RESULTS REPORTING Handwritten notes other than formulas written inpen ONLY, are NOT allowed in any portion of areference book. Moveable tabs are NEVER permitted in a referencebook. A reference book CANNOT contain Post-it notes. Photocopied documents CANNOT be added to areference book. Photocopied versions of a reference book areNEVER permitted. You must achieve a70% score in order to pass the exam.RETESTING POLICYCandidate’s eligibility is valid for one year from thebeginning eligibility date. Candidates who fail the examor who fail to take the exam by the end of their eligibilitydate must submit to the Alabama Board of Heating, AirConditioning, and Refrigeration Contractors a retakeform along with an additional examination fee. Pleasevisit the Alabama Board of Heating, Air Conditioning, andRefrigeration Contractors website for more details and acopy of the form.Candidates cannot retake an exam once they havepassed that exam unless required by the State ofAlabama.REVIEWS & PROV’S ACCEPTED PAYMENT METHODSVisitor PolicyNo one other than the candidate will be allowed in thetesting room. Non-testing visitors are NOT permitted towait in the lobby while candidates test.Reviews are intended to help candidates audit theirtesting results by allowing them to see which questionswere missed.Unethical Conduct PolicyCandidates may request a review of their exam afterfailing an exam category two (2) times. To be eligible fora review, candidates must score within 10% of therequired 70% passing score. The review for all tests is 11/2 hours in length. During the review candidates will beprovided a printout of the questions they missed and theanswers chosen in response to those questions.Any individual caught giving or receiving assistanceduring or after the examination or caught usingunauthorized materials during the examination will bereported directly to the Department. Candidates will request or schedule areview using the same methods described earlier forscheduling.Review fees are collected by Prov. Payment for examsshould be made directly to Prov. Please visit the State ofAlabama HACR Contractor Board website for a completeschedule of fees.Candidates paying for any other services provided byProv can use the following methods of payment: Money Orders Cashier’s Checks Certified Checks Credit Cards (Amex, Discover, Master Card, Visa)No personal or company checks will be accepted and allregistrations that include personal or company checkswill be returned without processing.EXAM CHALLENGE PROCESSIf during an exam or review, the candidates encounter aquestion they think is inaccurate or otherwise incorrect,they are encouraged to submit an Exam Comment toProv detailing why they feel the question is in error.Candidates testing on computer may make theircomments in the testing system. Candidates who arereviewing an exam will automatically be provided withan Exam Comment form. Prov staff will review eachcomment within two weeks of submittal. Should anycomment result in a change to a test question and/orcandidate score, Prov will report the change to the Stateof Alabama HACR Contractor Board. The Board will notifythe candidate of the score change and issue a new resultletter. Detailed answers to questions or comments arenot provided for test security purposes.HAND SCORE REQUESTProv ensures the accuracy of our exam results. Ourcomputer system, is designed to identify and report anypotential error in data collected from an exam session. Ifyou would like to have your score reassessed foraccuracy, you can request a Hand Score by calling Prov at1-866-720-7768 and asking for a Hand Score RequestForm.AL-HVACR CIB 2020.04.04A Hand Score Request form requires a signature andmust be mailed to Prov. Forms must be received by Provno later than ninety (90) days after your examinationadministration date and must be accompanied by a copyof your original score letter.Once a Hand Score is received, Prov Staff will process therequest within seven (7) to ten (10) business days. Duringthe Hand Score process a staff member will ensure thatyour answers were properly recorded and scored bycomparing the captured answers to the exam key. Uponcompletion of the Hand Score we will provide a letter bymail to report the outcome of the reassessment.The cost of the hand score is 25.00 (includes tax).PROV’S NON-DISCRIMINATION STATEMENTProv provides equal access to its exams and testingprograms for all eligible persons.
