IntroductionABOUT VOCATIONAL ACADEMY OF MAKEUP AND PROSTHETICSThe Vocational Academy of Makeup and Prosthetics is a professionalmakeup training school located in Orlando, Florida. We seek to provideour students with a modern education in the field of professionalmakeup artistry. We offer comprehensive courses teaching bothspecial makeup effects as well as beauty makeup. VAMP is also hometo one of metro Orlando’s most comprehensive makeup effects stores.Exterior of VAMP in Orlando, FloridaMISSIONVAMP is a professional makeup school and store that aims to provideour students and customers with the most current methods andproducts in the industry. We will provide customers with the productsthey require as a professional makeup artist, as well as the educationneeded to become one.LOCATION & FACILITIESVAMP is located at 5800 Hansel Avenue, Orlando, Florida, 32809,just 5 miles south of Downtown Orlando. VAMP’s 6,700 square footfacility is also home to the school’s specialty makeup store. Ourfacility includes a large lab room where Modern Effects MakeupArtistry students will spend most of their days. Outside of this areathere is a large application room and a classroom for demonstrations,which is often utilized by the Beauty Professional Makeup Artistrystudents during their time at VAMP. Our school also offers students abreak area and kitchen, a small computer lab and research library withmakeup reference photos and other reference materials, and accessto our pro shop for buying extra supplies for their kit or personaluse. Programs & MaterialsVocational Academy of Makeup and Prosthetics offerstwo programs that, alone, focus on a specific realm of themakeup industry. These programs may be combined forthose students wishing to gain experience and trainingin both fields. There is no prerequisite course for eitherprogram offered by VAMP. BTM05: BRIDAL36 HoursApply your knowledge of beautymakeup and create beautiful bridallooks for any client. Wedding makeupis a beneficial industry to enter as abeauty artist, as there is a constantdemand for artists and most jobshave multiple clients in need ofmakeup. Students will learn how toapply bridal makeup, how to integrateairbrushing with conventional makeuptechniques, and how to understand theneeds of their clients and execute theproper looks.BTM06: BEAUTY III:MODERN METHODS54 HoursStep into the world of high-fashionmakeup and take your skills up a notch!Students will learn about advancedlash applications, eyebrow blocking,theatrical makeup, and how to applydrag and high-fashion makeup for film,television, and print.BTM07: PROFESSIONALPROTOCOL30 HoursBefore you can enter the career world,you have to learn how to navigatethrough it. AdmissionsADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTSStudents must be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma, G.E.D.,or college diploma, and be fluent in English. All students must sign anenrollment agreement upon acceptance to the institution. VocationalAcademy of Makeup and Prosthetics encourages uniqueness,individuality, and creativity. VAMP will never discriminate on the basisof race, color, age, ethnicity, religion, national origin, pregnancy, sexualorientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information,sex, marital status, disability, or military obligations.ENROLLMENT PROCESSIn order to enroll in any VAMP program, individuals must first submita New Student Application, either online or in-person, along witha non-refundable application fee of 100. Once an application hasbeen approved, Vocational Academy of Makeup and Prostheticswill contact potential students to set up an interview. At this time,potential students must also submit a copy of a valid driver’s licenseor other state issued photo identification and proof of a high schooldiploma, G.E.D., or college diploma. VAMP programs are designedto be comprehensive and at times challenging. It is important to ourteam that each student be interviewed and determined to possessthe drive, professionalism, and enthusiasm needed to excel in ourprograms. Upon acceptance to any program, students must signan enrollment agreement and confirm with the school that theyhave set up an appropriate financial plan in order to complete theenrollment process.TRANSFERABILITY OF CREDITSVocational Academy of Makeup and Prosthetics does not accept creditfor prior courses taken at other institutions, nor does it give credit forexperiential learning. The transferability of credit is at the discretionof the accepting institution, and it is the student’s responsibility toconfirm whether or not credits will be accepted by another institutionof the student’s choice.ADMISSIONS14

School Policies& ProceduresATTENDANCE POLICIESVAMPmaintainsattendancerecords for all students. Studentsare expected to be on time andattend all scheduled classes. Inorder to master our courses, theschool requires a 90% completionof hours in order to receive creditfor any program offered byVocational Academy of Makeupand Prosthetics. Any amount ofclass time missed beyond thisrequirement must be made up withan instructor outside of scheduledclass time.These additionalhours will cost each student 25per missed hour. If a student’sattendance drops below 80% ina calendar month, he/she will beplaced on probation for a period ofthree weeks. Tardiness is defined asshowing up more than 10 minuteslate for the beginning of a class orreturning from lunch. Tardinesswithout a legitimate excuse onmore than three different occasionswill result in a student being placedon probation for a period ofthree weeks.Any studentwho misses seven unexcusedconsecutive days of class will bedetermined to be withdrawn fromthe institution.CLOCK HOURS“Clock Hour” means a period of60 minutes with a minimum of50 minutes of instruction in thepresence of an instructor.ACADEMIC POLICIES ANDGRADING SYSTEMOverall grades are calculatedbased on classwork, homework,participation, quiz, and test grades.VAMP will issue progress reportsto all students at the half way markof any program.Additionally,students may request a progressreport from the administration teamat any point during the program. Astudent unable to maintain a gradeof 70% in any class will be placedon academic probation for a periodof three weeks. The student mayalso be given extra assistance in aneffort to reach the expected levelof s’s grading system isdefined as follows:GRADEABCDFIW90-100%80-89%70-79%60-69%Below 60%IncompleteWithdrawnSTUDENT CONDUCT ANDCONDITIONS FOR DISMISSALAny student not conductingthemselves in an orderly andprofessional manner, which includesuse of drugs and alcohol duringschool hours, dishonesty, cheating,disruptingclasses,excessivetardiness, insubordination, violationof safety rules, hazing of anotherstudent or potential student, or notabiding by the school rules will leadto either probation or dismissalfrom classes.Three infractionsof any kind will result in a writtenwarning being issued to a student.Any fourth violation will result in theAll work done by VAMP students15School policies & Procedures

student being placed on academicprobation. Our school director andfaculty reserve the right to place anystudent on immediate probation orsuspension based on the severityof the offense committed.DISCIPLINARY APPEAL PROCESSStudents have the right tocontest any disciplinary actionby submitting a written appeal toVocational Academy of Makeupand Prosthetics’s director withinthree business days of an issuedviolation.The student shouldexplain the incident and thoroughlyexplain why he/she believes thedisciplinary action should bedismissed or reevaluated.Theschool director will respond toany student appeal within threebusiness days after meeting withthe student.ACADEMIC PROBATIONStudents may be placed onacademicprobationduetocontinuous violations of VocationalAcademyofMakeupandProsthetics’s attendance, grading,and conduct policies.Duringprobation, students may be requiredto meet with VAMP’s administrationat the end of each week to assesshis/her progress, depending on thereason for probation. If any studentcontinues to violate these policiesduring their three-week probation,the student may be suspendedor terminated.ACADEMIC SUSPENSION ORSchool policies & ProceduresTERMINATIONAt the end of probation, if thestudent has not brought his/hergrades to meet our satisfactoryacademic progress policy or if thestudent continues to violate thestudent conduct or attendancepolicies, then the student shallbe suspended or terminated,depending on the recommendationof the administration. The studenthas a right to appeal the decisionto the school director. The appealshould be submitted in writingwithin three business days of thesuspension or termination.STUDENT APPEAL alAcademyofMakeupandProsthetics will have three businessdays to submit a written appealto the school director. All appealsshould explain why the suspensionor termination occurred, give adetailed explanation of how thestudent will correct past behavior,and why the student should bereinstated. The school director willhave three business days to respondto any student appeal. Studentsgoing through the appeals processmay be permitted to remain inclass upon the discretion of theschool director.GRADUATION REQUIREMENTSUpon graduating from VocationalAcademyofMakeupandProsthetics, students will receive adiploma for the course they havecompleted. In order to graduateand receive a diploma for anyprogram, students must have a finalgrade of 70% or higher, have anattendance rate of 90%, and havecompleted all assignments andtests. Additionally, students mustfulfill all financial and administrativeobligations to the school.16

Vocational Academy of Makeup and ProstheticsAll work done by VAMP studentsLEAVE OF ABSENCESStudents may request a leave ofabsence at any point during theirstudies at Vocational Academy ofMakeup and Prosthetics. In order toreceive a leave of absence a studentmust submit a written notice to theschool explaining the reason theyare not able to attend classes andthe leave must last longer than10 class days. If a student fails tonotify the school director of theirleave of absence the student will beheld to the Attendance Policy. Thisincludes possible dismissal for lackof attendance. Students wishingto return to classes after a leave ofabsence must contact the schooldirector. The school director andstudent will both determine whenand if the student will return toclasses, which must be within 120days of the start of the leave.RE-ENTRANCE POLICIESAny student who was academicallyterminated,droppedoutofthe program willingly, or wasterminated for misconduct, may bereadmitted to Vocational Academyof Makeup and Prosthetics within17one year by completing a personalinterview with the school’s directorand paying all fees due at the timeof readmission. Students who havebeen academically terminatedshall be on probation for his/her first three weeks.Programrequirements at the time of readmittance shall be applicable.REFUND AND CANCELLATIONPOLICYShouldastudent/applicantcancel his/her enrollment or beterminated by the school for anyreason, refunds will be madeusing the following procedures:1.Request for cancellationsmust be made in writing to theschoolandgiveninperson or by certified mail.2.Allmonieswillberefunded if the school doesnotaccepttheEnrollmentAgreement or the applicantcancels within three businessdays after signing the EnrollmentAgreementandmakingtheinitial payment.3.An applicant requestingcancellation after the third businessday, but before the first programdate will receive a refund of allmonies paid, with the exception ofthe registration fee which shall beretained by the school.4.Cancellationafterattendance has begun but prior to50% completion of the programwill result in a pro rata refundcomputed on the number of hourscompleted to the total clock hours.5.Cancellationaftercompleting 50% of the programwill result in no refund.6.The termination date forrefund computation purposes isthe last date of actual attendanceby the student unless earlier writtennotice is received by the school.7.A student can be dismissedat the discretion of the Director, forinsufficient progress, non-paymentof costs, or failure to comply withthe school rules.8.All refunds will be madewithin 30 days of cancellation ortermination. Student kits, books,and supplies are non-refundable.STUDENT GRIEVANCEPROCEDUREAny student who has a grievancewith the school or an instructorSchool policies & Procedures

should first discuss the problemwith the instructor or schooldirector. If a resolution is notreached, the student should makea written complaint and submit itto the school director asking fora written response. The schooldirector will have 10 business daysto respond to any complaint. Ifrejected, the school director willstate the reasons why it wasrejected. If a satisfactory resolutionof the problem is not obtained, thestudent may contact the FloridaCommissionforIndependentEducation at 325 West GainesStreet, Suite 1414, Tallahassee, FL32399-0400, toll-free telephonenumber (888) 224-6684. If notrejected and a resolution is reached,the student will be able to returnto the program in which he or sheis enrolled.STUDENT RECORDSThe school maintains all studentevaluations and grades indefinitely.Student transcripts are issuedupon graduation and are keptpermanentlybytheschool.Duplicates are available uponwritten request for a fee of 5.00.school policies & proceduresSCHOOL SECURITY ANDEMERGENCY INFORMATIONStudent safety and security is a toppriority for Vocational Academyof Makeup and Prosthetics. Ourfacility doors remain locked duringbusiness hours, and emergencyprotocol and safe student practiceis thoroughly reviewed duringorientation. In the event of anemergency or natural disaster,students will be notified of anyschool closure, change of schedule,or effective emergency protocol.18

GI BILL Vocational Academy of Makeupand Prosthetics is approved forveterans’educationaltraining.Please contact our admissionsoffice for information on how touse VA education benefits at VAMP.(GI Bill is a registered trademarkof the U.S. Department of VeteransAffairs (VA).)VETERAN’S ATTENDANCEPOLICYEarly departures, class cuts, tardies,etc., for any portion of a class periodwill be counted as actual clock hourtime missed. Students exceeding20% total absences in a calendarmonth will be placed on probation.If attendance is satisfactory duringthat time, the student will no longerbe on probation and benefits willremain active. If the student’sattendance is unsatisfactory at theend of the period of probation, theirVA benefits will be terminated. VAstudents are allowed ONE monthunsatisfactory attendance thatresults in a probationary periodper program. After this periodends, they must maintain 80%attendance in any month, or theUSDVA will be notified and theirVA benefits will be terminated. Thestudent’s attendance record willbe retained in the veteran’s file forUSDVA and SAA audit purposes.STANDARDS OF ACADEMICPROGRESS FOR VA STUDENTSStudents receiving VA educationalbenefits must maintain a minimumcumulative grade point averageSchool policies & procedures(CGPA) of 70% each term. A VAstudent whose CGPA falls below70% at the end of any periodwillbe placed on a academicprobation for a maximum ofthree weeks. If the VA student’sCGPA is still below 70% at theend of the probation period, thestudent’s VA educational benefitswill be terminated. A VA studentterminated from VA educationalbenefits due to unsatisfactoryprogress may petition the schoolto be recertified after attaining aCGPA of 70%.VETERAN’S REFUND POLICYThe refund of the unused portion oftuition, fees, and other charges forveterans or eligible persons whofail to enter a course or withdraw ordiscontinue prior to completion willbe made for all amounts paid whichexceed the approximate pro-rataportion of the total charges that thelength of the completed portion ofthe course bears to the total lengthof the course. The pro-ration willbe determined on the ratio of thenumber of days of instructioncompleted by the student to thetotal number of instructional daysin the course.VA PENDING PAYMENTCOMPLIANCEIn accordance with Title 38 USCode 3679 subsection (e), thisschool adopts the followingadditional provisions for anystudents using U.S. Departmentof Veterans Affairs (VA) Post 9/11G.I.
