Experience of undertaking orparticipating in a research projectIn their first year of study, all students undertake anintroductory course to the Extended Project Qualification,(‘EPQ’) which is an examined written research assignmentof 5,000 words, highly favoured by world class universitiesand leading medical schools. We encourage all our medicalstudents to complete the Extended Project Qualificationas part of their medical school application process whichtakes place in the Autumn of their second year.NatMatSci’s close working relationships withSt Bartholomew’s Hospital (London) and UniversityCollege (London) afford our students opportunitiesto gain valuable hands on research experience.Typically students undertake a research assignmentduring the Summer vacation at the end of their first year.Our students regularly participate in Zebrafish ResearchProjects run by UCL.
