WELCOME TO ST. BRUNO PARISHWeekly MessageWelcome! We are happy to have you join us atMass. If you are visiting, looking for a new parish or justneed more information about the Catholic faith, simplyvisit our website at www.stbrunoparish.com, call us at262-965-2332 or email at stbruno226@gmail.com.Gospel MeditationEncouraging Deeper Understanding of Scripture“Human beings, while capable of the worst, are also capable ofrising above themselves, choosing again what is good, and making a new start.” (Pope Francis) We have a difficult time figuringout what is true and best for us. There are many voices talkingand so many trying to get our attention. We wrongly convinceourselves that the true voice is the voice of progress, the onethat speaks of contemporary wants and desires, enticing us withthe latest trends and causes. We are taught, by listening to thevoices around us, that truth is found in feelings and thought, andideals must match current and popular human wants. Becausewe feel a particular way it must be true. Then, we find a shepherd who empathizes with us and affirms us. We follow thatvoice even though listening to that voice will render us powerlessand lead us toharm. There aremany with me inthis procession tothis pasture. Imust be on theright path andlistening to theright voice.Circle of LifePlease pray for our friends and fellow parishioners who haveentered into Eternal Life during the month of MayRoseMary WichmanRaymon E. O’ConnorJames LurveyWe are very confused. What can keep us safe and from harm? Where do we goto find life, love, and happiness? Jesus tells us that he is the way,the truth, and the life. The only way to get to Truth, who is God,is through him. There is no other way. The Church, the gatearound God’s pasture of life, is charged with the mission of directing us where God desires that we go. In the midst of all of theconflicting voices around us, the voice of truth is often muffled inall of the noise, but it beckons us to a life of virtue and grace.Helping us understand who we are and where we have to be, itdiscerns the voice of God, providing us with the safety net weneed to stay straight on our path to life eternal.Giving through We Share!Visit our Parish website www.stbrunoparish.comand click the online GIVING box.Contact the Parish Office with any questions. We have to trust the voice of God, the true Shepherd, even whenit does not mirror what we want and what others may believe.Faith goes way beyond feeling and involves a radical trust inSomeone who can lead us and form us. At day’s end, if we do notknow to find our way home, we will be truly lost. ADULT FAITH FORMATIONPrayGod of all peoples and nations,Who created all things alive and breathing,United and whole,Show us the way of peace that is Your overwhelming presence. We hold before you the peoples of Ukraine and Russia,Every child and every adult. We long for the timeWhen weapons of war are beaten into ploughsharesWhen nations no longer lift up sword against nation. We cry out to you for peace;Protect those who desire and deserve to live in security and safetyComfort those who fear for their lives and the lives of their loved onesBe with those who are bereaved.Change the hearts of those set on violence and aggressionAnd fill leaders with the wisdom that leads to peace.Kindle again in us a love of our neighbor,And a passion for justice to prevail and a renewed recognition that weall play a part in peace.Creator of all hear our prayerAnd bring us peace. Make us whole.Amen(Source: Christian Aid)We are an Easter peopleAre we? Are we living a life that shows that? We are called to give ourbest and to see the good in others. This story from an anonymous author can help us see if we are always working to become the person Godcreated us to be.When a newspaper reporter interviewed a farmer, who grew awardwinning maize each year he entered his maize in the Agricultural Show,it was revealed that the farmed shared his seed with his neighbors.Amazed, the reporter asked, “How can you afford to share your bestseed with your neighbors when they are entering their maize in competition with yours each year?” The farmer smiled knowingly and explained,“The wind picks up pollen from the ripening maize and swirls it from fieldto field. If myneighbors growinferior maize, cross-pollination willsteadily degradethe quality of mymaize. If I am togrow good maize, Imust help myneighbors grow agood crop.”Focus on ways youcan “crosspollinate” the loveof Jesus in yourfields ofinfluence.Prayer for the Perserverance of VocationsO God, You have constituted Your Only-begotten Son supreme andeternal. Priest for the glory of Your majesty and the salvation of mankind: grant that those whom He has chosen ministers and dispensers ofHis mysteries may be found faithful in fulfilling the ministry they havereceived.Family Prayer for VocationsO Devine Jesus, Who has taught us to pray to the Lord of the harvestthat He send for laborers into His harvest, be pleased to reaise up in thechurch, and in particular the Diocese of Milwaukee, many holy Priestsand religious to work according to the intentions of Your Heart and toprocure by their ministry the salvation of souls and the glory of YourFather. And if it should please You, O Lord to choose one such from ourfamily kneeling before you at this moment, we thank You with all of ourhearts on this earth and for all eternity.
