The RoundupPage 4May & June Programs/EventsMay 5, 2015 – July 29, 2015 Spring/Summer Story Time Session:Wiggle Worms Tuesdays @ 10:30 a.m. Enjoy storybooks, lap bounces, music, dancing, rhythm activities, fingerplaysand more at this special program for babies, active toddlers, and adult caregivers. (20 minutes)Preschool Story Time Wednesdays @ 10:30 a.m. New and classic picture books, flannelboard and puppet stories,fingerplays, music and dancing, all for preschoolers aged 3-6 and their caregivers. (30 minutes)May 19 – August 4 “Every Hero Has a Story” Summer Reading ChallengeEvery member of the community is encouraged to participate! Pick up your reading log, record your reading time andreturn your reading log for regular and grand prizes! Grand prizes include four new bicycles for children up to 15 yearsof age. The Friends of the Oakdale Library has donated the bicycles and Oakdale Bike Shop will generously donate afree new fitted helmet and free service for a year! Children ages 8 and up and young adults will be entering intodrawings for cool prizes on a monthly basis and adults will be entered into drawings for gift certificates.Tuesdays in May 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Computer Basics –The class is a basic introduction to computers, includingan explanation of the parts of the computer, a tour of Windows, and other simple tasks. The challenges include making a superhero mask and cuffs,reading to develop brain power, projectile target practice to develop eye-hand coordination, using your senses todevelop X-Ray vision and disposing of kryptonite in order to decontaminate our library!
