Recreation by Natalie ZinkLooking for candy donations for the WJV Easter egg hunt. Anyone whowants to donate please leave up at the front office. Egg hunt willbe Sunday, April 2nd at 1:00 p.m.Ordering a dumbbell rack for fitness room and replacing the exercisemats. Going to order a set of shuffle board discs beause there are currently only five. The billard balls in the game room are gathering in themiddle underneath the table making it look like the balls are missing.Having maintenance check the table.SecurityPremier Group installed the license plate reader at the front entrance and the pan/tilt/zoom at the compound. You will still see them around tweaking the cameras to get the best view.Security meeting was held on January 24, 2017. Eight people were in attendance and all are committee members now. We have since trained two more people and one more will be trained this week. That brings ourtotal to 11 people! I cannot brag on this group enough. Anytime an incident comes in, they are on it. They aredoing an awesome job! Thanks also to the other villagers that have volunteered to keep the cameras clean andfree of spider webs. Their help is greatly appreciated. The board approved to install the pier cameras. We had approximately 250 left from the initial camera installation so that money will go toward the additional cameras on the pier.Several people have asked if we were planning on installing a light facing the waterway and the pier. We caninstall another 400 watt flood light on the light pole down by the gazebo for only 12.84 per month on ourelectric bill. I would like the board to vote on this at the next meeting. Our road and waterway entrance arevery well lit now and each light is placed in that area for a specific purpose. Moving one light to another areawould defeat the purpose of having the lights in the first place. This past month we have had 6 closed cases of incidents that have been reported. If you need to report an incident or concern, please use the form on our website or email keepwindjammersafe@gmail.comHospitality by Judy BledsoeRenters:Chris and Susan Precht are renting 2242 Vereen CircleLinda Haynes and Larry Mosley are renting 2116GeorgetownJason and Rebecca Bittigar are renting 2111 LafayetteOwners: Now officially owned by the following:Lee Estate on Franklin is owned by Nicole Krall.James Brown Estate on Jackson is owned by Charles W.Brown.Merkle Estate on Swamp fox is owned by Michelle andSharlene Merkle.Jensen Estate on Plantation is owned by Ralph Jensen.

Maintenance by Eric ZinkI just wanted to start off by saying how much Russel and I appreciate all our volunteers. We have had so muchhelp with various things that we cannot say Thank you enough. We can always use more help. Anytime anyone feels like helping, just contact Russell or me and we will find something that can be done.We spent in Jan 2917 1551.39 Please see break down of extras that was spent on.To the date of Feb 2, 2017 we have so far spent a total of 36,924.11 out of our budget. We are on track withthe spending. We added a street light at the compound gatesDrainage was started on Marion Circle and Gamecock Circle on 1/18 thru 1/20/17Pipes for Dykman Circle were delivered on 1/25/17 and completed on Feb 6thThe original swell was dug back out on Little River Drive and the coquina road that was filled in the past on1/20/17Russell and volunteers John Early and Billy cut down all the leaning trees at the front of the village on 1/20/16The compound had new brush signs posted and installed on 1/18/17. In the rules of WJV it states that nolimbs or logs larger than 3 inches shall not be brought to the compound, anything larger needs to be taken toHorry County. I will be asking the board to change that to 5 inches. If we see folks bring anything large, weneed to remind people of the rules. We do not want any employees or volunteers to get hurt trying to movethese large logs around.I met with SC DOT on 1/23/17 and talked about redigging the drainage ditch along HWY 179, they said theywould put us on the list no estimated date.I met with Horry County drainage on 1/25/17 and we spoke about water runoff from the CB Berry drivewayon Vereen Drive. They are going to see what they can do, either dig a water runoff ditch on our side or divertthe water on their side. Horry County called me back on 2/7/17 and told me they were going to clean out theswells and install a speed bump at the end of the driveway at the CB Berry Building to divert the water into thecatch basins. He said it may take a few weeks but he will have us on his list.I called DEHEC and set up them to come out and establish the OCRM critical tide line, so we know what wecan do and where, for example, putting up decorative fence. DEHEC came out on 1/24/17 and marked ourcritical high tide line so now we know where we can install our posts for the rope fence.Russell removed a large amount of the fallen tree’s at the front of Windjammer Village, we rented anotherdumpster from Kidd construction to fill with the trees at a cost of 433.35, It cost us a total of around 500.00to remove all those leaning tree’s from the storm that to all the volunteers that helped.FUTURE GOALS:Pressure wash Shuffle Courts and Tennis Courts.Tennis Courts lights (need to be rebuilt).Tennis courts wiring is in bad shape and we need to rewire, alsoinstall a timer for the lights.Start looking at replacing railing at the marsh walk.Try to get some help from volunteers during the winter months tostart painting some of our buildings.Keep going with the village clean up.Start talking about perhaps painting the Windjammer Sign lettersStart replacing broken outlet boxes at the clubhouse.During winter, all picnic tables need to be painted, Gazebo needssome attention.Replace all rotted siding on the gazebo and put new door andscreens back in. First, the floating dock pilings will be set 5-6 feet deeper intothe river bottom. The contractor's intention was to have this done by the end of January, but job re-schedulingissues prevented that from happening. He informed me that he will make every effort to get it done by the endof this month. Secondly, Venture Engineering is in the process of completing the as-built drawings. In regard to boat ramp repair, our pier contractor is planning to repair the ramp on Feb.27 or 28. Atwhich time the boat ramp will be closed to boaters.
