The sample viscosity is correlated to the time theball requires to traverse a definite distance. By turning the measuring tube upside downagain the return of the ball may also be used for an additional measurement applyingthe return constant. Kinematic ViscosityFlow Cup ViscometersSTANDARDS: ISO 2431, ASTM D-1200Flow cup viscometers provide kinematic viscosity data. The measured kinematicviscosity is generally expressed in seconds (s) flow time when the fluid is flowingthrough an orifice at a specified temperature. Thanks to the conversion equations theviscosity is calculated from the flow time to centistokes (cSt).
