Bugs BunnyBugs Bunny is one of the most recognized cartooncharacters in the world, whose signature phrase, “What’sUp, Doc?” has long since entered the English language.Bugs’ first “reel” appearance in front of his soon-to-beadoring public was in A Wild Hare directed by Tex Avery.Since then, Bugs’ zany antics in hundreds of cartoonfavorites have made him a legend throughout the world.This cool, collected, carrot-chomping rabbit is theunequivocal superstar of the Looney Tunes family. With never a “hare” out of placehe always manages to outsmart his adversaries, whoever they may be. He’s a realAmerican icon who has graced TV and cinema screens the world over.Bugs Bunny’s cartoons have twice been nominated for Academy Awards, andhis Knighty Knight Bugs won a coveted Oscar. Bugs has starred in four films inaddition to his hundreds of animated shorts and 21 primetime television specials.Bugs Bunny celebrated his 80th birthday on July 27, 2020 exactly 80 yearsfrom the premiere of A Wild Hare on July 27, 1940.26

ConductorGeorge Daugherty’s 45-year conducting career includesappearances with over 250 American and internationalorchestras, as well as major ballet companies, operahouses, and concert artists. He is an Emmy Award–winning/five-time Emmy nominated creator whoseprofessional profile includes major credits as a director,writer, and producer for television, film, concerts, andtheater. He has conducted dozens of performanceswith the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the HollywoodBowl and the National Symphony at Wolf Trap, and most recently conducted twosold-out runs with the New York Philharmonic at David Geffen Hall. He made hisPhiladelphia Orchestra debut in 2000. His current and recent conducting scheduleincludes repeat engagements with the Boston Pops; the Cleveland and NationalArts Centre orchestras; the San Francisco, Detroit, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Dallas,Houston, Milwaukee, Utah, St. Louis, Fort Worth, Vancouver, Colorado, and DanishNational symphonies; and the Hong Kong Philharmonic. He has been a frequentguest with the Royal Philharmonic in London as well as on an international tourwith Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. He has conducted extensively at theSydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony, with which he recorded a CD. In2023 he debuts with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. He has conducted forAmerican Ballet Theatre, the Bavarian State Opera and Ballet, La Scala Ballet, andthe Teatro Regio di Torino. He was music director of Ballet Chicago, Chicago CityBallet, Louisville Ballet, Ballet San Jose, and Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo.Mr. Daugherty received a Primetime Emmy Award as executive producer/director/writer of ABC’s production of Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, also receiving anEmmy nomination for Outstanding Music Direction. He collaborated with The JoyLuck Club author Amy Tan on the Emmy Award–winning television series Sagwa,the Chinese Siamese Cat and received an Emmy nomination for his ABC musiceducation series Rhythm & Jam.In 1998 Mr. Daugherty received the Indiana Governor’s Arts Award from his home state,in recognition of his artistic contributions not only in Indiana but also throughout thecountry. He joined an exclusive list of previous Hoosier honorees, including composersCole Porter and Hoagy Carmichael, conductors Raymond Leppard and John Nelson,cellist Janos Starker, violinists Joshua Bell and Josef Gingold, architect Michael Graves,designer Bill Blass, and novelist Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. In 2005 Mr. Daugherty was nameda Sagamore of the Wabash by Indiana Governor Frank O’Bannon, the highest awardbestowed upon a performing artist from the governor. In 2006 he was named aLibrary Laureate of the San Francisco Public Library for his contributions to children’sbooks (of which he has written over 20), reading, and literature.27

Executive ProducerBugs Bunny at the Symphony Executive Producer DavidKa Lik Wong won an Emmy Award for his work asproducer on Peter and the Wolf in 1996; he was alsonominated for an Emmy as producer of Rhythm &Jam, the ABC children’s music education series. Heteamed with George Daugherty as principal producerfor the Peter and the Wolf project, the animation andlive-action production starring Kirstie Alley, LloydBridges, Sleepless in Seattle’s Ross Malinger, and thenew animated characters of legendary animation director Chuck Jones. Mr.Wong also produced the interactive CD-ROM version of the production for TimeWarner Interactive. He was the senior producer for the Warner Bros. documentaryfilm The Magical World of Chuck Jones, directed by Mr. Daugherty and featuringinterviews by Steven Spielberg, Whoopi Goldberg, George Lucas, and RonHoward, among others.Mr. Wong has been producer for the Warner Bros. touring concert productionBugs Bunny on Broadway since 1991 and Bugs Bunny at the Symphony since 2010and co-produced the original audio CD album for Warner Bros. Records. Hehas also produced innovative orchestra concerts for some of the world’s leadingorchestras, including The Philadelphia Orchestra; the New York, Hong Kong,Royal, and Los Angeles philharmonics; the Boston Pops; and the National andSan Francisco symphonies, among others. Most recently he produced Christmasconcerts for Canada’s National Arts Centre and the National Arts CentreOrchestra. He is also executive producer and co-creator of the touring concertRodgers & Hammerstein on Stage and Screen, playing with such major orchestrasas the Hong Kong Philharmonic, the Cleveland Orchestra, and the San Franciscoand Fort Worth symphonies.Mr. Wong teamed with Mr. Daugherty, Amy Tan, and the Sesame Workshop toproduce and create the new Emmy Award–winning PBS children’s series Sagwa,the Chinese Siamese Cat, based on Ms. Tan’s book. He also wrote a number ofepisodes and story-edited all 80 segments. Mr. Wong is producer of the newWaterTower Music CD release of Bugs Bunny at the Symphony, recorded at theSydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony. In addition to his Emmy Awardsand nominations, he has won numerous other awards, including the Grand Awardof both the Houston and Chicago international film festivals, a Silver Award ofthe Chicago Film Festival, two Parents’ Choice Awards, and the Kids First Award.28

ProducerProducer Amy Minter was born and raised in Pittsburghand has maintained a residence there for her entire life,as well as in numerous other cities. In 2015 she becamea partner and producer with the Emmy Award–winningIndustrial F/X Productions, producers of Bugs Bunny atthe Symphony, and since then she has been an integralpart of the Bugs Bunny concert team at such majororchestras and venues as the New York Philharmonicat David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, the Los AngelesPhilharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, the Sydney Symphony at the Sydney OperaHouse, the Boston Pops, The Philadelphia Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony, theMilwaukee Symphony, the Fort Worth Symphony, Chicago’s Ravinia Festival, theChicago Symphony Center, the Seattle Symphony, the Vancouver Symphony, theNational Arts Centre Orchestra, the Sarasota Orchestra, and many others, as wellas with IF/X’s concert production Rodgers & Hammerstein on Stage and Screen withthe Hong Kong Philharmonic.Ms. Minter has served as executive producer for eight made-for-television filmsproduced by Gemelli Films for domestic and international distribution, and sheis an accredited member of the Cannes Film Festival. She serves on the Boardof Directors for Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo and is an active memberof the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. She has also served as a member of the judgingpanel for the Daytime Emmy Awards.29
