Mystic SolutionsLife Pattern Grid (LPG)Life Pattern Grid is he most important analysis as it helps in identifying inner traits of anindividual. LPG also highlights Mental, Emotional, Practical, Thought, Will and Actiontraits. There are arrows of strength and weaknesses. Background of LPG:The legend goes that one of the great emperors of China once found a tortoise shell during aflood of the river Lo. This was a highly auspicious omen as the people in those times believedthat God lived inside tortoise and turtle shells. This particular tortoise shell hadextraordinary markings – it contained a perfect, three-by-three square on its back. This squareis known as the Lo Shu grid. This square was remarkable because every horizontal, vertical, and diagonal row added up to fifteen. Fifteen is the number of days between the newmoon and the full moon. The number five was highly regarded in ancient China and this magicsquare contained a five in the central position. After several centuries, the 3x3 magic square made its way out of China and entered the Indiansubcontinent. From India, it travelled on to Arabia and into medieval Europe. Since, magicsquares have fascinated humanity throughout the ages, and have been around for over 4,120years. They are found in a number of cultures, including Egypt and India, engraved on stoneor metal and worn as talismans, the belief being that magic squares had astrological anddivinatory qualities, their usage ensuring longevity and prevention of diseases. In the ninthcentury, Arabian astrologers used magic squares to interpret horoscopes. The 3x3 magic square was used as part of rituals in India from Vedic times, and continues tobe used till date. The Kubera-Kolam is a floor painting used in India which is in the form of amagic square of order three. It is essentially the same as the Lo Shu Square, but with 19 addedto each number, giving a magic constant of 72. Lo Shu is also connected to the Chakras andstimulate them. Chakra (derived from the Sanskrit chakra चक्रं, wheel or disc. There are sevenmajor chakras or energy centres, located within the subtle body, from the base of the spine tothe top of the head, at major branching of the human nervous system, beginning at the base ofthe spinal column and moving upward to the top of the skull and expressed life force energy(biophysical energy or prana of the human body).

From LPG one can also derive Vastu defects in one’s house as each grid presents particulardirections as listed below: North: Career prospects, water element, planning, Middle SonSouthwest: Marriage prospects, marital bliss, earth element, happiness, initiative,MomEast: Family relationships, health, wood element, growth, Oldest SonSoutheast: Wealth, prosperity, wood element, Oldest DaughterCentre: Earth element, strength and stability, FamilyNorthwest: Mentors, helpful people, friends, metal element, foreign contracts, newopportunities, FatherWest: Mental peace, children, creativity, metal element, Youngest DaughterNortheast: Knowledge, education, memory, earth element, Youngest SonSouth: Recognition, fame, energy, fire element, Middle DaughterThe LPG (Life Pattern Grid) can be looked at in a number of different ways. The top row(numbers 4, 9 and 2) represents the head of a person. The middle row (numbers 3, 5 and 7)represents the body. Finally, the bottom row (numbers 8, 1 and 6) represents the feet. Top row can be regarded as the Mental plane. It encompasses thinking, creating, imagining and analysing. Associated with Head. The middle row is called the Emotional plane. This plane includes spirituality, intuition, feelings and emotions. Also associated with Torso. The bottom row is called the Practical plane. This encompasses physical labour, creativity, athletic ability, physical coordination and the ability to be practical ineveryday life. To use the head-legs analogy again, the feet are firmly placed on theground in the Practical Plane.Similarly, the vertical rows are also interpreted as follows: The first of these vertical rows is the Thought plane. This reveals the person’s abilityto come up with ideas, create things and carry them through to fruition. The middle vertical row is the Will plane. This gives determination and persistence tosucceed. The final vertical row is the Action plane. This shows the person’s ability to put histhoughts into action. The three vertical rows make a natural progression. First of all, the person has to comeup with an idea (Thought plane). He (or she) has to have determination and persistence(Will plane), otherwise the idea will never be acted upon. The planning is done at this

stage. Finally, the person needs to be able to put the idea and the determination into action(Action plane). We can better understand the use of this grid through an example. For instance, let’s take up the case of a person with missing numbers 3,4 and 8. Number8, which is a symbol of the earth element, and the numbers 3 and 4 are absent from his grid. These numbers symbolize the elements of wood and growth respectively. The absence of thesenumbers shows that this person is very unsystematic and works on new plans every daywithout focusing on a long-term plan. Due to the absence of numbers 3, 4 and 8 in his grid, thisperson hesitates to demand his rights and there are likely to be problems in the associateddirections.SolutionTo do away with these problems, he should wear crystals or put a crystal lotus in the particularzone of his room. Carrying a pendant or bracelet with numerous tiny crystals in it is also a veryeffective remedy to boost confidence. Also, in the Sun rise direction, he should put up a greenbulb and in the Fire zone, he should keep a green plant which symbolizes the wood elementand makes up for its absence in his chart.

In addition to the specific areas given, one can attain a long life by putting up a picture of atortoise on the North wall of the living room; and one can achieve resoluteness and energy byputting up a picture of the Garuda (mythical giant bird) on its South wall. Thus, we can usethe magical Lo Shu aka LPG to help us navigate the problem areas in our life.ARROWS ON LPG:There are 3 types of arrows on LPG1. Arrow of Strength2. Arrow of Weakness3.
