Founded inthe 1870’s in Pennsylvania. Officially Jehovah’s Witness are called theWatchtower Bible and Tract Society. Became Known as Jehovah’s Witness in 1930 Predicted the Second Coming multiple times. Headquarter is in Brooklyn, New York. Known for door to door evangelizing. They are NOT considered Christian.

Founded by Charles Taz Russell Was initially called the “Watch TowerBible and Tract Society”. 1872 he published his doctrine in theUSA. 1878 he renounced all Christiandoctrine. 1879 he published the “WatchTower” Russell died in 1916 and succeeded byJudge Joseph Rutherford.

Rutherfordchanged the name of theorganization to “Jehovah’s Witnesses”. He instituted the door to door preaching. Incorporated many “scare tactics” by tellingthe would be converts that only 144,000would go to heaven. Little Flock & the great crowd. Died in 1942was succeeded by Nathan Knorr.

Knorrwas not as dominatingpersonality as Russell or Rutherford. Knorr proclaimed himself a prophet andpredicted the “true” date of Armageddon on1975. Despite many unfulfilled predictions and over200 changes to their doctrines they have over7.5 Million followers worldwide.

The origin of the name was driven from two verse Jehovah - And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO IAM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the childrenof Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”(Exodus 3:14) Witness - “You are My witnesses,” says the LORD,“And My servant whom I have chosen,That you may know and believe Me,And understand that I am He.Before Me there was no God formed,Nor shall there be after Me. (Isaiah 43:10)

TheBible ( The New World Translation of theScripture). The WatchTower Magazine. Let God be True. This is Eternal Life. Talk from the Holy Scriptures.

Kingdom Halls Congregation typically meet two days a week. Meeting open and close with song and prayer. Includes Bible reading, talks about family life, prophesies and discussion prepared by thewatchtower magazine. They observe two sacraments which is Baptism and theHoly Eucharist but they are “symbolic acts” only. No Priesthood, the “elders” typically direct themeetings.

Jehovah’s Witnessesare not Christians Sanctify the Sabbath, share the belief of theSadducees in their disbelief of the resurrection ofthe dead and deny the Divinity and Sonship of theLord Jesus. Donot believe that the spirit is eternal. No eternal punishment for the wicked. They use their own translation of the HolyBible.

TheyReject the doctrine of the Holy Trinity Christ is NOT the Almighty God In the beginning was the Word, and the Word waswith God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1 NKJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word waswith God, and the Word was a god (John 1:1 NWT) Christdid NOT rise in flesh and did not ascendto heaven in flesh. Christ is Archangel Michael.

JW Claim: The doctrine of the trinity was driven from paganorigin and is derived from Satan. Jesus was God’s First creation and he is ArchangelMichael. Theirbelief is a rehashing of the Arian heresywhich taught that the person of Christ did noteternally Pre-exist as God.

JW Belief : Jesus Existed in three separate states Before Becoming a man While being a man After the resurrection. Jesuswas resurrected as a “sprit person” not inthe body that died. And he returned invisibly in aspiritual existence in 1914 to begin setting up hisKingdom. The Holy Spirit is merely a “force” and is notdivine.

Forthere are three that bear witness in heaven: theFather, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these threeare one. (1John 5:7) The Doctrine of the Holy Trinity is included in theLord’s words about baptism “Go therefore and makedisciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the nameof the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”(Matthew 28:19) The blessing in which we conclude our meetings “Thegrace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God,and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with youall. Amen.” (2 Corinthians 13:14)

TheSon is the Logos (God’s intellectualutterance or uttering intellect). Naturally God is not separate from His ownintellect but both are One Essence “ Christ the power of God and the wisdom ofGod.” (1 Corinthians 1:24) “ Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Fatherin Me ” (John 14:11) Now,Since the Father and the Son are one,What about the Holy Spirit?

TheHoly Spirit is the Spirit of the Lord. “The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, TheSpirit of wisdom and understanding ” (Isaiah11:2) Againwe can not separate God from HisSpirit. Whereas God is one with His intellect andwisdom and with His Spirit, then the three areone .

Therefore, eachof the Three Persons is God The Father is God is an indisputable fact. The Son is God, in addition to what we talkedabout the word of the apostle “For in Him dwellsall the fullness of the Godhead bodily” (Col 2:8) The Holy Spirit is God as evident from thenarrative of Ananias and Sapphira “You have notlied to men but to God.” (Acts 5:4)

JW Believe: The Crucified body was taken away from the tomb andhidden by an angel. The body which is the disciples saw and handled wasnot that crucified and dead body. He did not ascend in the crucified body; otherwise, inthat distorted body, he would be lower than the angels. Christ through death, offered His human nature for thelife of the world and lost it forever. No human eye will see Him in His Second Coming forHe will come in an invisible way.

Itis not mentioned in any of the HolyScripture that an angel took the body awayfrom the tomb and hid it. The formation of an illusion of a body or thatthe Lord formed a body to convince thedisciples is a kind of deceit and lying not meetfor the Lord. Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself.Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have fleshand bones as you see I have.” (Luke 24:39)

The ascension of the body with its wounds does not mean that itis distorted nor that His Glory was concealed. “And I looked, and behold , in the midst of the throne and of thefour living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb asthough it had been slain ” (Revelation 5:6) The idea that the Lord did lose His Human nature iscontradicting to the Lord’s word “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that Imay take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down ofMyself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take itagain. This command I have received from My Father.” (John10:17-18) As for their views that no one will se Him in His coming. Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, eventhey who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mournbecause of Him. Even so, Amen. (Revelation 1:7)

Jehovah’s Witnessesdo teach and endeavor tolive by the moral standards of God’s Word. Theyare guided by principles such as the following: “You must love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew22:39) “Do not defraud.” (Mark 10:19) “Let the stealer steal no more, but rather let him dohard work, doing with his hands what is good work, that he may have something to distribute to someone inneed.” (Ephesians 4:28) “We wish to conduct ourselves honestly in all things.”(Hebrews 13:18)

Christwas a created being, lessor than theFather (Arianism) Christ died on a stake, not a Cross. Christ is Archangel Michael. Christ rose from the dead in spirit only. The Holy Spirit is a force. No priesthood. Symbolic observance of selective sacraments.

The Jehovah Witnesses have more than a few oddities intheir theology such as: Only the best 144,000 Jehovah Witnesses Go to Heaven, the restremain in a “millennial” earth. Angels marry humans. (Genesis 6:2-4) When Jesus went to heaven He became who He had previouslybeen, The Archangel Michael. They teach that Christ returned in 1914. He is currentlyadministering His “still invisible kingdom” from Watchtowerheadquarters in Brooklyn. They teach that to accept a blood transfusion would cause one tolose their salvation. They reject all holidays regardless of the type. Do not vote, holdpolitical office, serve in the military, salute a national flag.

“Evenon the cross Hedid not hide Himselffrom sight; rather, Hemade all creationwitness to the presenceof its Maker.”― ST. Athanasius ofAlexandria, On theIncarnation
