HEALTH OCCUPATIONS EDUCATION PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT GUIDENO. 5: DENTAL ASSISTINGPROGRAM DESCRIPTIONThe Dental Assisting program is designed to prepare youth and adultsfor work in an assisting capacity under the supervision of the dentistand/or other professional, licensed dental personnel. The curriculum isplanned to provide training for the Dental Assistant, and focuses onskills and knowledge appropriate to the role of the assistant at chairside, in the dental operatory, in the dental laboratory, and in thedental office and reception area.
