Susie Says from our Librarian, Susie BrendleSusie Brendle, LibrarianThank you to all theFriends of Union CountyPublic Library for your continued support. The libraryhas already purchased several things with the fundsthat you presented to me inat the September meeting. Those funds wereused to renew the subscription for the Atlanta Journal& Constitution and to start anew subscription for USAToday and several othermagazines. I will be orderingjuveniles books in the nextcouple of weeks.Because our materials budget has been cut drastically this year, the librarywill need FOL support morethan ever before. WithoutFOL support the purchase ofthese items would be almostimpossible.Over the last coupleof months, the LibraryBuilding Committee hasbeen visiting libraries aroundthe north Georgia area thatwere built, renovated or expanded by certain architectsthat we’re considering forUnion County Public Library’sExpansion/Renovation project. Our last visit will beOctober 1, 2008 to Chickamauga Public Library andCatoosa Public Library.Hopefully not long after that,an architect will be chosen.I want to encourageeveryone to volunteer to helpwith the upcoming LibraryBenefit Auction on OctoberMile of pennies campaign making its markThe next time youare driving down the highway, take note of a milemarker and travel to the nextone.
