The imagery and the phrasing are slightlydifferent, yet each week the message is the same: Hearall people! Your God is coning to save you! These are some of the companions with whom wejourney through the season of Advent: those whom theChurch has given us to act as guide, as shepherds, asones who point us to the dayof the Lord, at the end of time. They point us to that day whenthe Lord will come again, justas certainly as he once camethrough his birth in Bethlehemover two thousand years ago.During these weeks we arecalled to embrace what isreally important. We arecalled to prepare ourselves, toprepare our lives for thefulfillment of all of God’s ancient promises as voicedthrough the prophets. We are called to take their wordsto heart, to take their words seriously. Each year we arecalled to follow the prophets and to put faith in theirwords.Perhaps this year will be the year that brings the dayof which the prophets wrote. Perhaps this year we willsee the return of Jesus Christ, God’s own begotten Son.Perhaps this year He will come in glory to establishGod’s Kingdom. This is the Advent hope to which we are called. Thisis the heart of the season. This is the kind ofanticipation out of which the prophets call us to live –each and every day. Maybe, just maybe, this will be theyear He returns.WEEKDAY MASS SCHEDULEDECEMBER 4TH - DECEMBER sFri.MassMassMassMassMassMassMassPlease remember those who have diedespecially Roland Joseph Quebedeaux,Joyal “Tony” Robichaux, Jr., Maxine“Mackie” Braud, Judith Anne Landry, and Rosemary Boudreaux.
