To become a member* of the Heritage Senior Center, customers must be atleast 50 years old and provide proof of residency. Two forms of identificationare required including a valid state photo ID, plus a utility bill, billing statementor other document showing name and current address. For corporatememberships, an employee photo ID and paystub with an Irving address areacceptable proof of work residency.*Dedicated caregivers and/or guardians of HSC members may accompany amember but cannot participate in activities, including classes, fitness andbilliards rooms or special events. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Monday throughFriday. Tickets are available from 9:10 a.m. to 11:25 a.m. oruntil all are distributed. Membership is not required to takepart in the lunch program, but participants are required tofill out an intake form at the front desk to be eligible. Thelunch program is sponsored by the City of Irving, DallasArea Agency on Aging and the Texas Department of Healthand Human Services.The Heritage Aquatic Center is open to the public;membership is not required. Residents ages 50 and oldermay swim for free and participate during senior and publicswim hours. The City of Irving offers a wide variety of programs andactivities for seniors ages 50 and older through theHeritage Senior Center. Built in 2003, the 40,000square-foot facility offers a variety of amenitiesincluding comfortable classrooms, a sunny diningroom and a gorgeous ballroom with a wooden dancefloor. Members also can relax in the living room, reada book in the library, get creative in the craft room,play billiards, use a computer, or exercise in thefully equipped fitness room.The Heritage Senior Center offers plenty of fun andcreative opportunities to help seniors stay active. Theschedule is filled with fitness classes, field trips,workshops and guest speakers.Sponsorship with the Heritage Senior Center provides a unique opportunity to supportIrving seniors and the community.Ways to get involvedThe Heritage Senior Center benefits through monetarycontributions and donations. Here are some examplesof how to get involved. Donate items for door prizes such as food baskets,gift baskets, gift cards to grocery store or movies. Special Event Feature Sponsor. Donate entertainment, decorations orrefreshments. Become a Lunch and Learn or other EducationalSpeaker session. Provide Health Screenings: Blood pressure, bloodsugar checks, hearing and vision checks. Advertise in Herald newsletter, with monthlydistribution of 3,000 copies citywide. Volunteer to assist with events.All donated items will be coordinated for delivery orpickup prior to the event.19
