That you take care, as much as is possible, that whosoever isadmitted to serve any Cure, do reside in the Parish where he is toserveespecially in Livings that are able to support a resident Curate:And where that cannot be done, that he do at least reside so near tothe place, that he may conveniently perform all the Duties both in the;Church and Parish.Xn. BY THE KING.AProclamation declaring that the proceedings of hisMajesties Ecclesiastical Courts and Ministers, areaccording to the Laws of the Realm.HERE ASsome oftho Libellous Books and Pamphletsmost Reverend Father in God, theLord Archbishop and Bisliops of this Realm, are said toliave usurped upon his Majesties Prerogative Royal, andlo have proceeded in the high Commission and otherI'xclesiasiical Courts, contrary to tiit Laws and Statutes of this Realm;It was ordered by his Majesties high Court of Star-Cliamber, thetwelfth day of June last, that the opinion of the two Lords chief Justices, the Lord chief Baron, and the rest of the Judges and Barons,should be had and certified in those particulars, viz.Whether Proinlately publislied, themay not issue out of the Ecclesiastical Courts in the Name ofWhether a Patent under the great Seal be necessarythe Bishops?for the keepino: of the Ecclesiastical Courts, and enabling Citations,cessesSuspensions, Excommunications, and other censures of the Church?Citations ought to be in the Kings Name, and underhis Seal of Arms, and the like for Institutions and Inductions to Benefices, and Correction of Ecclesiastical offences?Whether Bishops,Arch-Deacons and other Ecclesiastical persons may or ought to keepany Visitation at any time unless they have express Commission orPatent under the great Seal of England to do it, and that as hisMajesties Visitors only, and in his name and right alone ?And whetherWhereuponJudges having taken the same intounanimously concur and agree in opinion, and the first day of July last certified under their hands as followeth.
